I have many fond memories of Pat in Nantucket and at Brigadune. She had a wonderful laugh and was always fun to visit with, just seeing her and Kay when we were on Nantucket made our vacation time even sweeter. Kay, I am sending you my deepest condolences at this very sad time. You are both in my thoughts and prayers, as always. Pat was a wonderful woman, always smiling and full of joy, she will, I am sure, be missed by many.

A very special lady who influenced all of our lives in many positive ways.

I met Pat and Kay in Nantucket when I was very young. Upon the first night in their cottage, our family was having a Fourth of July celebration that was very loud and long into the night. The next day we introduced ourselves and apologized for the disturbance but were greeted with a response of how great it was to watch. From that moment, we were good neighbors and great friends. My parents enjoyed traveling with them too far off places and especially my father enjoyed flying everyone to the Vineyard, Vermont, and even Nova Scotia, anywhere they wanted to go for a lunch, or a short stay. In the many years on island we were able to enjoy their company and friendship. We were always happy when Pat and Kay arrived on the island for the summer and sad when they had to leave, but we always knew they would be back the following year. I had the opportunity to have long talks with Pat when I was young and was given the insight she was willing to share with a young mind wanting to grow. I learned a lot from listening to the conversations and I feel special in having been able to spend time with her. I will miss Pat but I know she is in a special place over looking her slice of “Brigadune”. Kay, I am thinking of you in this sad time and my prayers are with you as they always have been.

The entire Barada clan is saddened to hear of Pat's passing. As Pat and Kay’s neighbors in Nantucket and friends for many years, we have wonderful memories of them ... sunset cocktails on Miacomet Pond, lobster dinners, hurricanes, picnics on the beach, Sunday breakfasts at the Wood Box, N333LL, and visits to Ladies Beach just to name a few. We were blessed to have had Pat in our lives. God willing, we’ll all meet again on “the high road.”

We will all have so many fun and happy memories of Pat and her dear friend Kay on Nantucket Island. By all means, Brigadune was a favorite destination for Pat, you could just tell by how happily she would greet you at the door. Thank you Barada family for introducing all of us to your very special neighbor and friend. And Kay, know that I am thinking of you too and will keep you both in my prayers.
