My partner in the Corps in Philadelphia for 2 great years. What a great man, a great leader, and a great Marine. John took incredible pride in his Marine Corps service, and really, Really, REALLY cared about his Marines and Sailors in Headquarters Battery, 3D Battalion, 14th Marines. John was hands down the best Marine Officer in the unit in my 3 years there.
To his family: I am incredibly saddened by this. I last saw John at Lejenue when he was mobilized during the war. Seeing him brough back such great memories. Your loss is immense, I know. Pls know that he was such a GREAT MAN that his loss is being felt by a person 350 miles away in NC.
Anyone: PLEASE let me know when the service at Arlington takes place. My son is a 1Lt stationed at Marine Barracks Washington, and it would be an honor to have him involved in John's Military Interrment.

So many times I wanted to quit. I hated losing. Coach challenged us all to stay the course and finish with dignity and pride. It was hard not feeling like I was a loser, but Coach Miranda would not let us think like that. It was this mindset that has helped me in life through some challenging events and has lead me to become both a teacher and a coach. Thank you Coach Miranda for your influence and unwavering support. I was glad to know you and I can now take solace knowing I have another awesome soul watching over me from the great big gridiron in the sky!

Dear Jeannie and Family: I had the total pleasure of working with John during my tenure in Princeton.John is the best example of a gentleman , leader, scholar and thoughtful teacher and administrator.
