He was my absolute favorite teacher in high school as he was not just my computer teacher but also a friend. He never failed to know when something was wrong and always was one to ask my dad when he was battling his cancer. One of my fondest memories of high school was playing scattergories and how much fun we would have. He was an amazing man and I will always cherish my time with him.

I had no idea that John is a Lieutenant Colonel at the US Marine Corps. He never failed to attend our second son's Princeton High School ice hockey games with broad smile; of course, our eldest son went into Parris Island upon graduating from PHS in 2007, been serving as reserved, now being an active US Marine J.A.G. The Schwander family sends their deepest sympathy. It's been many years since our lives were connected, but we'll always remember John as a wonderful, kind man and a very devoted husband and father. You and the boys are in our thoughts and prayers!

I had the pleasure of calling John my "boss" for 9 years until I retired from teaching PE at JWMS two years ago. Simply put, John was absolutely the best "boss", but more importantly he was a good friend. His good-hearted nature will continue to live on through all of you. He always had a kind word to say about my son, though he never personally met him; he watched him from across the dug out during baseball season for a competing high school. John will be missed very much, and his legacy at PPS will never be forgotten. My prayers and sympathy go out to all of the Miranda family. May the Lord wrap his arms of comfort around all of you during this very difficult time.
