The Shaffer family is praying for you during this difficult time. We are blessed that our lives crossed paths with Jack. He was a great teammate of David's at Hatfield Ice. The great memories of Jack will always live on. God bless you and your family.

The Broken Chain
We little knew that day,
God was going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly,
In death, we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you.
You did not go alone.
For part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.
You left us beautiful memories,
Your love is still our guide.
And although we cannot see you,
You are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken,
And nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one,
The chain will link again.

To all devastated by the loss of our teammate, great friend and role model, Jack was a respectful, wild spirited kid. Jack would always play tricks on me in the locker room, and would always mess around with our teammates. But most of all he was never disrespectful to anyone. I will always remember Jack as a great goaltender and a great friend. And as we are all fighting through our sorrow, just remember, Jack is safe in heaven.
