Dear Mr. and Mrs. Sellen:
I taught Alex in First Amendment Law at The Newhouse School at Syracuse in his final semester. I can still see him in the front row, just to my left. I am of course greatly saddened at this news. It is tragic to see a young life cut short of its great potential. I can only imagine your grief. You have my deepest sympathy for your loss. The entire Newhouse School mourns his passing.

Alex was an intern of mine at NBC10. He had an infectious smile and enormous ability to light up a room. In a business that can be extremely intimidating, Alex didn't let it stand in his way. He showed up every day ready to take on the world. Through his short time at NBC10, everyone came to know and love him. I told him during his internship that any company would be lucky to have him on their team. Please know he was a wonderful individual who brought a lot of happiness to many people. My thoughts and prayers go out to you in your time of grief.
Sincerely,
Alexis Leonard
