Denise, Jim & family,
Your dad will always be remembered as an amazing man. He was known
for his smile and sense of humor. Jim was generous and kind to everyone he
met. Thanks Jim, for being such a good friend to me. I will miss our long talks
and will always cherish having had you in my life.

I was honored to call Jim a friend of mine. Fond memories
fill my thoughts when I reflect on the years that we
worked together. Jim was a dedicated professional who
only cared for making the lives of children better and more
enriched. A true gentleman and loyal friend.
Denise and Jim, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Your Dad will be missed. So sorry for your loss.

JIM DORKO WAS MY 6TH GRADE TEACHER. 1961-1962 AT ARDSLEY ELEMENTARY. HE IS LARGELY RESPONSIBLE FOR TEACHNG ME THW IMPORTANCE OF CURRENT EVENTS. AS A SHARP DRESSER ( think the lettermen ) HE IS ALSO RESPONSIBLE FOR ME HEADING OFF TO JR. HIGH AT GW WITH ENOUGH WHITE SOX FOR A WEEK. SOON TO BE LESS THAN COOL ( JIVE ) WITH THE ARRIVAL OF THE BEATLES. I SHARED ALL OF THIS WITH ' MR. DORKO' WHEN HE APPEARED AT OUR GARAGE-SALE IN HIS MEMBERS-ONLY JACKET IN 2004. THIS WAS SO COINCIDENTAL - MEETING 42 YRS FROM THE TIME I LAST SAW HIM.I THINK HE REALLY ENJOYED THAT DAY - BEST GARAGE SALE EVER ! ! HE WILL BE REMEMBERED BY ME AND MANY OTHER OF HIS STUDENTS. BEST REGARDS TO ALL DON MCCLAIN
