I am at a loss for words to say how much I will miss my "YaYa" Joan. Terry and Joan and I shared the happiest of times and the hardest of times. We now have a hole in our hearts that will always remain. This world has lost a beautiful soul.

A mediocre teacher tells. A good teacher explains. A superior teacher demonstrates. BUT - A GREAT TEACHER INSPIRES! Joan was a great teacher- an inspiration to all who had the privilege of meeting her. Her smile, dedication, love of children, enthusiasm, kindness, faith and beautiful heart - will be greatly missed but not soon forgotten. Like any great teacher- Joan would want us to take the lessons she taught us and put them into practice in our own lives. Honor this great woman’s life by becoming an inspiration and good example to someone else today. God Bless you Joan, may you now be a peace with the one who IS PEACE.

Mrs. Metzger was a wonderful and giving teacher. She blessed each of our three boys with her positive outlook and kind approach -- even when "boys will be boys." I especially remember our conference with Mrs. Metzger for our son Aidan when I felt so much that she knew who he was as an individual and she relished in his enthusiasm and creativity. We are blessed to have known her and extend our sincere sympathies to Robert and her entire family. Peace.

The world was a nicer place because Joan was in it and now heaven is a better place too! We miss you so much - there is a void in this world without you - we just have to hang on to the thought that you've made it nicer upstairs!
