Walt, Men like you are never gone or forgotten. Thank you for being our friend for the past seventeen years and for being my engineering mentor and lead when first met. I still have your resume and it is with me to stay. You are a man of many talents. I have enjoyed working with you on our hobby machining projects and listening about your passion for knife making. You had many future creative ideas and I wish you just had the time for them. You loved your kids and grandkids, often spoke highly of them and told me stories about when they were growing up. It was nice to see you smile every time you talked about teaching your daughter Linda how to walk when she was a baby. We have truly tried to get a hold of you several times in the past year but without any luck. We are very sorry we did not get to see you as promised. We enjoyed your last visit with us in Georgia after visiting your sister. Too bad you did not get to take the drive through the Blue Ridge back home as you planned. We miss you more than you think and will always talk about our memories with you.

Hey Dad. Was driving on Pine Road the other day when a deer ran across in front of me. I stopped to make sure she was across and looked back to see if thee were more. Sure enough, another doe was standing on the side looking at me for a few seconds. Without thinking I waved her across (I used the secret deer wave) and she did just that. As she reached the other side, they both turned to look back at me and of course I know they were saying "thanks". I hope you're enjoying yourself up there but you sure are missed down here.

Pop Pop... Words fail me. I miss you more than ever and yet after the last few months I feel like I've never been closer. You taught me so much in such a little time I'm not even sure I've ever been able to thank you enough. I know now that every minute I had with you was stolen time, which makes the memories I do have with you that more special. I know you're watching from above... we will remember you, we will love you. Keep us safe, and start scouting out the best places for us to hunt up in heaven.

Dad, I would not have traded the last 2 years for anything. I learned so much from you and I will never look at an apple or watch Jeopardy again without thinking of you. I thought your passing would be a relief because you would once again be the healthy, vibrant man I knew. I just feel a tremendous sense of loss and I hope that you are surrounded by your books and drawings.I will always love you and proud to say that I am your daughter.
