Early memories of hanging out with Uncle Bernie at my grandparents as a kid when i would stay during Easter break. He showed me how to find the horses in the paper and even let me pick a couple. (don't think we ever won!) Remember playing football in the street on cold New Years days in south Phila. with a rolled up newspaper.Remember feeling cool being asked to be in his wedding! Will always remember his LAUGH!!

The most memorable thing I can think of about Uncle Bernie was his goofy and funny jokes! Every-time you seen him, either at family functions or parties, he would at least tell us kids one joke, but most of the time it was a few! Well I guess Uncle Bernie got tired of being the funniest person in the room and he changed it to a joke for a joke. So first, he would tell us a joke, then it was our turn to tell him a joke. Well for me at least, I never had a joke to reply back to Uncle Bernie. So he caught on to me about this and wouldn't tell me any jokes! Well that got me all fired up and bothered because I wanted to hear Uncle Bernie's jokes! So I would go up to my dad, Uncle Danny, or Uncle Mike and steal their jokes then go back and tell them to Uncle Bernie. I guess he already knew, what I was up to, but told me his joke anyway because after we exchanges jokes he would say, "that wasn't your joke, was it?" I would just smile and say "yes it was" and he would shake his head and say "get your own jokes!" So to me Uncle Bernie was a great, funny, caring, and loving person and I'll miss him dearly!
