Our daughter Lauren and many of her close friends were very fortunate to have been coached by Mike in UMNSC soccer with his daughter Julia. Many of the girls on his team have been coached by Mike since they were in 4th and 5th grade. I think I speak for all of the soccer families who were lucky enough to have known Mike that we couldn't have asked for a better role model for our girls to be coached by! His love of the sport and his personality and integrity made him a coach all the girls really looked up to! No matter how many games the team won or lost in a season, Mike was always positive and team-oriented... and always put the kids first and made sure every body always got a chance to play. The soccer field will not be the same without him. Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to his beautiful wife and children. His presence will remain with you always!

My prayers for you to all have strength to get through this difficult time. God blessed your family with an amazing man who loved his wife and children, and life itself. We are so sorry for the loss of such a vibrant human being, and we hope that you find the strength and comfort in his memory and the legacy he has left behind. We love you and are constantly thinking of you all. Sincerely, Sabrina, Jeff and Gavin Morley

Our deepest sympathy to the Blatz family. We will miss Mike immensely. He was a great guy and we have appreciated getting to know him and for all of his coaching efforts with our boys.

I am still trying to wrap my head around all this?? Why someone so young,so vibrant,so full of life would be taken from us so soon?? I guess no one can really answer that question but God. God must have had other plans for Michael or he would not have taken him so soon. I have great memories of Mike and growing up in Drexelwood..riding bikes with Stacy Margolis and Kim Strauss while the 'Drexelwood Boys' (Jonathan,Mike, and the O'Leary boys) would taunt us as we rode by..as silly as that memory is,it was part of growing up and it still brings a smile to my face when i think of it :)
My sympathies are with Michael's entire family and all the friends who were blessed to have known him. He was a great person and his kind and generous legacy will live on in his beautiful children. I hope you find peace and comfort in all the wonderful memories you have of him,and know that even though he is gone from this earth he will live on in our hearts forever!! God Bless and God Speed..
