Although my memories of Bart are mostly from my childhood and teenage years, I have always felt a connection with him, being that we were born a month apart from each other. The last time that I spoke to Bart was 3 years ago, and I recall an intriguing, humble and nice person. I remember asking him questions about his life, and him briefly speaking of traveling to Germany, among other interests. After reading this obituary, it is evident that there was incredible depth to Bart. His accomplishments in life were outstanding. He was a free spirit and lived his life to the fullest. Bart’s untimely death is tragic, yet I find comfort in knowing that he died while pursuing a passion and a dream. I have no doubt that he is with God in heaven.

Dear Toni George and Family. Just been called by Jim Smith
I am absolutely heartbroken by such news. I knew the entire family from early on when they were all small children. I remember when Bart was in the seminary before he made the decision to leave. Toni and George, Ray and I express our deepest sorrow for you and your family. My prayers are with all of you and I know Bart is with God.

I seldom post on a Guestbook, but after reading Bart's obituary, I must share my feelings. In Bart's 33 years on this earth, he experienced more than most of us can even begin to dream about. He lived his life to the fullest! What an amazing man! Although you will miss him all the days of your lives, I know you will CELEBRATE the man he was. He was unique! He was gifted! He lived life fully......each and every minute. What a tribute to him and to you... his family.
My prayers and heart are with you all.
