Mary B. Cook, of Holland, passed away on May 13, 2013 at Twining Manor with her family by her side. She was 100.

She was the beloved wife of 65 years to A. Stanley Cook and daughter to the late Eric and Mary Innes Bergren.

Born in Rhode Island, Mary graduated from high school in 1929. She then obtained a secretarial degree from the Katherine Gibbs School. She was employed as an executive secretary for 12 years before joining the Woman’s Army Air Corp, where she proudly served our country during World War II. While enlisted, she served in an administrative capacity, giving troops their detail as to where they would be stationed. After returning to Rhode Island, she continued in secretarial work, and met her husband Stanley, marrying in 1948. After the birth of their children and moving to Connecticut, Mary continued to work for an insurance adjuster. Mary stayed at home for several years before returning to work at Connecticut Bank and Trust, from which she retired in 1977. After retirement, Mary and Stanley lived in Connecticut and Florida and traveled widely. In 2003, they moved to Bucks County, eventually settling in Twining Village.

In addition to her husband, Mary is survived by her children: Dr. James H. Cook, M.D., husband of Lesley of Doylestown, and Margaret M. Cook of Long Beach, New York; and her grandchildren: Rebecca and Jacob. Mary was preceded in death by two sisters.

Relatives and friends are invited to a graveside service on Friday, May 17, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd., Newtown, PA 18940.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Library for the Blind, 919 Walnut St., Phil., PA 19107.
