Mary “Vera” Brown passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2014 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was 87.
Vera was the beloved wife of 38 years to the late Carl Brown Jr.
Born in Pleasantville, NJ, she was the daughter the late Richard and Marie Dougherty McGlynn and sister of the late Richard McGlynn and Francis McGlynn.
Vera was a lifelong resident of the Atlantic City and Ventnor area and a resident of Churchville, PA for the last 10 years. She was employed by the Charles Movie Theater in Atlantic City for many years and later worked as a secretary for Etris Associate’s in Northeast Philadelphia. In her leisure, Vera attended the Far Northeast Senior Center where she played bingo and made many ceramic pieces for her family in their ceramic classes. She participated daily in the LIFE St. Mary Program in Trevose where she fostered many quality relationships over the past few years. Above all else, Vera adored her family and treasured time spent with them. She will be dearly missed.
Vera is survived by her children, Marie Brown Etris and her husband, Stephen, of Churchville, Carl J. Brown III of Atlantic City, NJ, and Nancy Garback and her husband, Thomas of Churchville. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Jill, Jess, and Tommy.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewings, Wednesday October 15th from 6:00-8:00pm in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954 and on Thursday, October 16th from 9:00-11:00am followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:30am in St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Rd. Holland, PA 18966.
Interment services for Vera will be held at 11:30am on Friday, October 17th in the Chapel of Holy Cross Cemetery in Mays Landing, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Vera‘s name to LIFE St. Mary Program, 2500 Interplex Dr., Trevose, PA 19053. Without this wonderful organization filled with dedicated and compassionate individuals, Vera would never have been able to stay in her home until God called her home.
