Dr. Robert E. Adams “Doc” of Holgate, NJ and formerly of Morrisville and Duck Key, FL, passed away October 19, 2014 at Southern Ocean Medical Center with his loving family by his side. He was 82.
Bob was the beloved husband of 49 years to Rosemary B. Seledic Adams.
Born in Trenton, NJ, he was the son of the late Robert E. and Alice Kenney Adams.
Bob attended St. Francis College in Loretto, PA and went on to earn his degree as a medical doctor from the University of St. Louis. His first position as a physician was with the United States Air Force where he met his future wife and would marry upon completion of his military service. The two made their home in Morrisville and raised their sons while Bob worked at the Hunterdon Medical Center and later ran his own private practice in Flemington, NJ.
Bob enjoyed spending much of his time at his homes on Long Beach Island, NJ and also on Duck Key, FL. where he and his wife retired in 1992. He was an avid boater and through his life grew fond of increasingly larger and faster boats.
A self proclaimed “mixologist”, one of Bob’s most memorable traits was his gregarious nature and natural ability to make everyone around him feel immediately at ease. He opened his home with others and extended the feeling of “family” with those that did not have their own. With Bob everyone was part of the family and he will be greatly missed.
In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by his sons, Robert E. Adams, Jr. of Ewing, NJ and Patrick J. Adams and his wife, Lucia, of Newtown. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Robert E. Adams III, Matthew L. Adams and Katarina and Sofia Adams.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Thursday October 23, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954 and again on Friday October 24, 2014 from 10:00 AM until his Funeral Mass 11:00 AM at the Church of St. Andrew, 81 Swamp Rd., Newtown, PA 18940. The interment will follow in Newtown Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation Gift Processing Center at PO Box 5018, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5018.
