Dr. Cameron S. Wilson, V.M.D. of Richboro, passed away suddenly on Friday, January 17, 2014, at his residence. He was 92.

He was the beloved husband of the late Edith Burrage Wilson for 61 years. Born in Richboro on the family farm in the middle of a snowstorm, he was the son of the late Harry C. and Edna Solly Wilson and brother of the late Theodore S. Wilson, Robert C. Wilson and Lucille Jacobson.

Dr. Wilson was a 1939 graduate of Richboro High School. He then continued his education at Penn State University in the School of Agriculture, Class of 1941and went on study veterinary medicine and received his degree from the University of Pennsylvania Veterinarian School, Class of 1948. Following graduation he started his practice in Richboro which he operated for 51 years prior to his semi retirement in 1999 and eventually retiring completely in 2001. Throughout the years he lovingly cared for both large and small animals.

He was a joint master of Fox Hounds of Huntingdon Valley for over 10 years. Dr. Wilson hunted all over the eastern United States and was well respected as a Master. During a hunt in l988 he fell and broke his neck. After his recovery he started driving carriages, both single road carts and pairs, and also competed in both types. Until recently he could be seen driving a single road cart in Tyler Park.

Dr. Wilson was appointed to the State Board of Veterinarian Medical Examiners by Pennsylvania Governor Richard Thornburg. He was a member and past president of the Bucks Montgomery Veterinarian Association, a recipient of the Northampton Township Living Tree Award, a member of the Northampton Township Historical Society, a lifetime member of Addisville Reformed Church in Richboro, a member of the Newtown Rotary Club since 1957, a member of the Middletown Grange and the Northampton Township Historical Society. In addition, he was the Pennsylvania State Racing Commission Veterinarian for Philadelphia Park and Keystone Racing Association for over 20 years. He was also a valuable influence to help develop the Harness Racing Animal Care and Thoroughbred Racing Care. In the past, he belonged to many local farming associations and was a member of the Newtown Reliance Company for detecting and apprehending horse thieves and other villains and prior to his passing was the oldest living member of the organization.

For over 40 years, Dr. Wilson was active with a group of friends who enjoyed playing cards together on a regular basis. He will be sadly missed as a loving father, grandfather and well respected member of the community.

He is survived by his son, Charles C. Wilson, D.M.D. and his daughter, Suzanne W. Carpp, both of Richboro and his loving granddaughter, Emilie Carpp and her husband, Gareth Stevens.
