Lillian D. Pappas of Warrington died Friday, November 16, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was 88.

Lillian was the beloved wife of the late Nicholas “Nick” Pappas and was the mother-in-law of the late Kenneth O’Neil.

Born in Chattanooga, TN, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Rosario Erice Hagan.

Lillian had moved to Cuba at the age of 2 and had lived there until she moved back to Chattanooga. After graduation from Chattanooga High School, she continued her education in Kansas City to become a flight attendant. Upon her graduation, she moved to Miami due to her being bi-lingual in English and Spanish. In Miami, she met her future husband Nick who was a student at the University of Miami. Eventually Nick and Lillian married and settled in Nick’s hometown, Philadelphia raising their daughter Nancy. Lillian worked as a secretary at Ancillae Assumpta Academy and also had worked with the Archdiocese of Philadelphia in helping Cuban Refugee Children in attaining housing and schooling. Lillian eventually went to work with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as an Unemployment Claims Examiner for over 20 years until her retirement. After retirement, she enjoyed watching her two granddaughters, Stephanie and Christina; she also traveled throughout the world, volunteered at St. Mary Medical Center for 25 years and loved to play cards with her friends at the Northampton Senior Center. Lillian will be deeply missed by her family and by all who came to know her.

Lillian is survived by her daughter Ann “Nancy” O’Neil of Warrington, her granddaughters, Stephanie DeLucia and husband, Adam of Lansdale, and Christina O’Neil and fiancée, James Mussallem of Warrington. She is also survived by her two great-grandsons, Samuel and Thomas “TJ” DeLucia as well as many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing from 10:30am until her Funeral Mass 12:00pm on Tuesday, November 27th in St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Road, Holland, PA 18966. Lillian’s interment will follow in Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be to the Council Rock Senior Citizens, 165 Township Road, Richboro, PA 18954.
