Gordon L. Rinker

November 25th, 2018

Gordon L. Rinker passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 25, 2018. He was 89.

Born in Kutztown, PA, Gordon grew up in Bethlehem, PA.  He was the beloved husband of the late Gloria Mae Shafer Rinker, son of the late Kenneth and Ellen Boger Rinker and the father of the late Daniel Rinker.

Gordon graduated from Kutztown State College.  After moving to Levittown, he was an elementary teacher in the Neshaminy School District for many years.  He enjoyed gardening and golfing.  Gordon and Gloria also enjoyed travelling the country in their motorhome.  Colorado, Alaska, Newfoundland and Florida were favorite destinations. They were active members of the Delaware Valley Winnies.

Gordon is survived by his loving children; Jane Walton and her husband Richard, David Rinker and his wife Carol, Jill Blomquist and her husband Michael, as well as his 6 grandchildren; Sarah, Laura, Christopher, Kathryn, Samuel and Jonathan and his great-grandchildren Nicholas, Zachary, Lily and Jaxson.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet Gordon’s family on Saturday, December 1, 2018 from 12:30 PM until his Funeral Service 1:30 PM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.), Richboro, PA 18954. His interment will be held privately.

Carl E. Fritzsche Jr.

November 24th, 2018

Carl E. Fritzsche Jr., of Doylestown, formerly of Kailua, Hawaii, died November 24, 2018, at his home. He was 78.

Born in Ft. Fairfield, Maine, he was the son of the late Carl E. Fritzsche Sr. and Margaret Costello Fritzsche.

Until recently, Carl lived the last 45 years of his life on the beautiful island of Oahu.  He successfully owned and operated CPF Distributor’s for approximately 20 years.  He retired and then continued to work at Closet Systems of Hawaii until June 2018.  He was an avid sports fan and reader.  Loved watching college football and always seemed to know something about any player from any team in the country.  An accomplished golfer and long-time member at Mid-Pacific CC.  During his prime, he was a single digit handicap and a GREAT PUTTER.  To his credit, he had six hole-in-ones during his time on the golf course….incredibly making two of them in one weekend!!!  He loved spending time with good friends, family and a good glass of Pinot Noir (or maybe two!).  He was a kind gentleman and will be missed by all.  “Aloha” UC, we love you and will miss you!!

He was the brother of the late Joseph Fritzsche, and Jean DiVona. He is survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and extended family.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass, 11:00AM on Friday, December 21, 2018 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church 5194 Cold Spring Creamery Rd., Doylestown, PA 18902.  His interment in Hawaii will be held privately by the family.

Barbara Amsell (Todd)

November 24th, 2018

Barbara Amsell of Hilltown died Saturday, November 24, 2018. She was 84.

Barbara was the beloved wife of 56 years to the late Charles T. Amsell.  

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary Hinton Todd.

Barbara was a devoted wife and mother who, after her children started attending college, enjoyed working as an Administrative Assistant for the Mercer Museum in Doylestown. 

Barbara is survived by her children, Loren Amsell and fiancée Tony Berisha of Pittstown, NJ, Amanda Heberton and her husband Bruce of Landenberg, PA and Cynthia Condodina and her husband Dean of West Chester. She is also survived by her sisters Diana Demordy of Furlong and Margie Carleton of Chalfont and her 5 grandchildren, Aubrey, Emma, Colton, Haydn and Morgan.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing from 10:30a.m. until her Funeral Service 11:30a.m. on Thursday, November 29, 2018 in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Avenue (at Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain, PA 18901. Barbara’s interment will be held privately in the Washington Crossing National Cemetery where she will be interred with her husband.

John Joseph Ehrmann, Jr.

November 23rd, 2018

John Joseph Ehrmann, Jr., of Holland, PA died peacefully at home on Friday, November 23, 2018, surrounded by his family. He was 69 years old.

He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth K. Davis Ehrmann. The couple shared 47 years of marriage.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late John Joseph Ehrmann Sr. and Eleanor Neri.

John was strong, tough and dedicated. He was a hero to many, but the center of the family to his wife and children. As a decorated US Ranger having served during Vietnam, he was a master marksman, weapons & hand to hand expert/instructor. He was also “Dad” and relished watching his sons grow up. He enjoyed teaching his sons to play baseball and football; and time spent hunting and fishing. He loved to “tinker”, play guitar and could fix just about anything with the simple items around him.

In addition to his wife Elizabeth, John is survived by his sons, John J. Ehrmann, III (Kimberly Corazo) and Jeffrey M. Ehrmann (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Gabrielle, Jeffrey, Amanda and Christian; his great grandson, Anthony; his brothers, Robert Ehrmann and Joseph Ehrmann; his sisters, Margaret Hawkins and Monica Usher and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet John’s family on Monday, December 3, 2018 from 10:30am until the start of his Prayer Service, 11:30am at the Joseph A. Fluehr, III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954. His committal, with Military Honors, will follow at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown.

Anna Holzinger (Schwarz)

November 22nd, 2018

On Thursday November 22, 2018 Anna Holzinger passed away, at The Birches in Newtown, 12 days after celebrating her 95th birthday.

Anna was the beloved wife of 66 years to the late Jack Holzinger.

Born in Yugoslavia, Anna was the daughter of the late Joseph and Teresia Lux Schwarz and was the sister of the late Katharina Buchinger.

Anna was a resident of Richboro for over 50 years before moving to The Birches in Newtown. Anna and Jack loved working in their garden,  planting trees, flowers, and vegetables, which they generously shared with friends and neighbors. Anna also enjoyed baking, taking daily walks with her husband, and spending time with her grandchildren.      

Anna is survived by her daughter, Anita Kelly of Yardley, Anita’s husband Neil, and her two cherished grandchildren, Katherine and Jack.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing from 10:00am until her Funeral Mass 11:00am on Saturday, December 1, 2018 in St. Andrew Catholic Church, 81 Swamp Road, Newtown, PA 18940. Anna’s interment will follow in Newtown Cemetery in Newtown.

James William Heflin

November 21st, 2018

James William Heflin of Churchville, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on November 21, 2018.

Son of the late Asa and Anna (Brogan) Heflin, step son of the late Regina O’Donnell Heflin and grandfather of the late Kaitlyn Grace Ciccarelli.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years Alma (nee Fitzgerald). He was the devoted father of Jean Kane (Gregory), Eileen Delfini (Dan), David Heflin (Karen) and Kristin Ciccarelli. He was loving grandfather of 15 grandchildren: Dylan, Mary Bridget, Brian and Brogan Kane; Nicole, Matthew, Emily and Ava Delfini; Meaghan, Sarah, Anna and Kate Heflin; and Lauren, Connor and Alyssa Ciccarelli.

Jim was a proud graduate of Northeast Catholic High School, where he was captain of the football team, and Drexel University, where he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. A hospital administrator, he spent 28 years at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Camden, NJ, as Chief Financial Officer. Jim was the Judge of Elections for 12thDistrict, Northampton Township and the AARP Tax Service Coordinator for his area. His second home, which his parents built before his birth in Cape May, NJ, was his favorite place in the world, where he loved to fish in the Delaware Bay, tend to his bountiful vegetable garden and enjoy his family and friends. He was always excited to cheer from the sidelines at his grandchildren’s sporting and other events.

Beverly June Walker (Arnette)

November 21st, 2018

Beverly June Walker of Abington, Pennsylvania, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Abington-Jefferson Hospital in Abington. She was 68. 

Beverly was the loving wife of Joseph L. Walker, Sr., with whom she had shared 45 years of life together. 

Born on the 4th of July, 1950 in Lumberton, North Carolina, to Ruth McQueen Arnette and the late John William Arnette, Sr., Beverly was raised in Fairmont, North Carolina, where she joined Mill Branch Baptist Church at an early age. She served in numerous capacities in the church alongside her parents and siblings. She graduated from high school in Fairmont in 1969 as part of the Fairmont/Rosenwald school integrations in the south.

She graduated from the Eastern Montgomery County Area Vocational – Technical school in 1984, and quickly specialized in geriatrics. She worked tirelessly as a nurse for over 30 years, mainly working 3rd shift so that she could be available during the day for family and church. In 2007, she joined Abundant Life Family Church where she served as a Deacon and Elder, serving in and leading the “Life, Care and Kindness Ministry”.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, Beverly possessed a quiet, gentle nature and helped all that she could.     

Two of her three siblings preceded her in death: Reginald Arnette and John William Arnette, Jr.

Beverly is survived by her mother, Mrs. Ruth McQueen Arnette of Fairmont, NC, her husband, Joe L Walker, Sr., of Abington Pa, a daughter, Stephanie (Frank Newson) Arnette-Newson of Charlotte, NC; sons, Jacquet Illinois Thompson of Atlanta, Ga and Joe (Penny Appel) L. Walker, Jr. of Abington, PA; Five step-children, numerous step-grandchildren; and many who view her as their mom.  Also survived by A Spiritual daughter, Judy (Matt) Jones-Boyer; seven grandchildren: Mecca Keyanni (daughter of Stephanie and Frank), Briahna Alexis (daughter of Joe and Judy), Rachel Lynn (daughter of Joe and Gwendolyn Pitcairn), Micah Khalil (son of Stephanie and Frank), Chloe Ann (daughter of Joe and Gwendolyn Pitcairn), Gabriel Luke and Amelia Joy (children of Joe and Penny); one sister, Sarah Perry of Latta, SC; sisters-in-law: Carolyn Arnette Ferriar of Dillon, SC and Vanessa Arnette of Virginia Beach, Va; her brother-in-law: Howard Perry of Latta, SC; three aunts: Eva M Lee of Atlanta, Ga, Constance Paige of Verona, NJ and Retha Arnette of Charlotte, NC; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on December 3rd from 10AM until her Going Home Celebration at 11AM at the Abundant Life Family Church, 201 Church Rd., North Wales, PA 19454.  Her interment will follow in Lawnview Cemetery, Rockledge with Repast to follow at the Abundant Life Family Church.

Marie Malone-Street (Widawski)

Marie W. Malone-Street, 88, of Wesley Enhanced Living, Doylestown, formerly of Bethlehem died on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 while in Hospice care at her residence.  Marie was the beloved wife of the late Maurice A. Street and the late John Joseph (Jack) Malone.

Marie was born in Trenton, New Jersey on February 2, 1930 to the late Peter and Bertha (Garstka) Widawski.

Marie greatly enjoyed reading, playing cards, doing crossword puzzles, shopping, fine dining and traveling.

She is survived by her sons John Malone and his wife Maureen of Pottstown, PA and Stephen Malone and his wife Sharon of NJ, Stepchildren, Heather (Street) Gennaula and husband Charles

Gennaula MD of Pittsburgh, PA and their four daughters and Douglas Street of Amarillo, TX and his two sons.  Marie had seven grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.  She had a special relationship with her daughter-law Anna Buczkiewicz-Malone of Perkasie, PA and her two children. 

Marie was predeceased by her son James Malone and her sister Helen (Widawski) Carber.  Marie will be deeply missed by her family and friends and best remembered by her perseverance, positive attitude and beautiful smile.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her services on Thursday, November 29th  Her viewing will be from 5 to 7pm at which time a funeral will take place in the Joseph A. Barbara Ann Garrigan (Yeager)

Barbara Ann (Yeager) Garrigan of Holland, PA passed away peacefully on November 19th, 2018. She was 77.

Born in Reading, PA she was the daughter of the late Edward A. and Helen (Maryniak) Yeager.

Barbara will forever be remembered by her loving husband of 56 years, James M. Garrigan, her two sons, James M. Garrigan, Jr. and his wife Martha, Feasterville, PA; Sean C. Garrigan, Jenkintown, PA; and two grandchildren: Erin Garrigan, Molly Garrigan, as well as extended family and dear friends.

She was retired from Express Scripts where she performed pharmaceutical fulfillment quality control. She was a graduate of the St. Peter School of Reading, PA.

Margaret R. Moss (Hack)

November 18th, 2018

Margaret R. Moss of Holland, PA died peacefully on Sunday, November 18, 2018, at Holy Redeemer Hospice in Meadowbrook. She was 87.

Born in Philadelphia, Margaret was the beloved wife of the late William A. Moss and the daughter of the late Paul A. and Mary C. Dougherty Hack.

Margaret has been a resident of Holland for over 50 years and was one the many founding parishioners of St. Bede the Venerable Church.  She was a devoted stay-at-home mother who with her husband would tend to their gardens and then would preserve the bounty it produced.  She enjoyed sewing for her family, keeping a beautiful and meticulously cared for home, reading, and making sure her family was well cared for.  Margaret was a devoted Catholic who not only instructed her children in the faith but shared her knowledge of the Catholic Faith with the many CCD classes she taught at St. Bede the Venerable Church.  Margaret will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure to have felt her love and care.

Margaret is survived by her loving children: William A. Moss Jr. and his wife Holly of Chalfont, Bernadette R. Moss of Feasterville, Jeanette M. Snyder and her husband Ken of Sinking Springs, Mary Elizabeth Schachte and her husband John of Ashland, PA, and Joseph A. Moss of Pensacola, FL.  She is also survived by her sisters Mary Kepler and Julia Hanley and she will be remembered as the loving grandmother who cherished her 16 dear grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewings on Tuesday evening, November 20, 2018 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm and on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 from 11:00 to 11:45 am in the Chapel at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Rd. Holland, PA 18966.  Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12 Noon in the main Sanctuary at St. Bede the Venerable Church. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, Langhorne.
