Elizabeth J. “Betty Jane” Sculley of Jamison, PA and Sea Isle City, NJ and formerly a long time resident of the Mayfair section of Philadelphia passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family on Thursday, November 8, 2018.

Betty Jane was the beloved wife of the late Joseph J. Sculley.

Born in Philadelphia she graduated from West Catholic High School and would later meet and marry the love of her life.  They would share 57 years of love, laughter, family, and life together.

Betty Jane was a volunteer for Our Lady of Confidence School and a devoted parishioner of St. Matthew Parish before relocating to Bucks County.  She enjoyed the simple things in life and the most important thing to her was family.  She was known for her Hallmark Store gifts and for always making time to be with those most important to her.  She enjoyed her daily crossword puzzles and treasured time at her “happy place”, the family home in Sea Isle City, NJ where she took great pride in tending to her gardens.  You could feel her joy when she was surrounded by those she loved, especially at the shore and countless other family gatherings.

Betty Jane will also be remembered for the selfless and giving way she cared for her son Christopher.  He was the light of her life and she stopped at nothing to help him shine. His love for her was without measure.

Betty Jane will be greatly missed by her entire family including her children, Helen Schmidheiser (Lou), Anne Carrel (Charles), Jim Sculley (Barb), Joe Sculley Jr. (Barb), Marybeth DeAnnuntis (Dante), B.J. Jusczak (Mike) and Christopher Mario Sculley.  She also leaves behind her brother, Jim Huggard (Joanne), her grandchildren, Danielle (Sean), Sara (Tony), Stephanie (Bill), James, Brianna, Joey, Dante, Alexa, Meghan, Kelly, and Emily and her great grand-children, Anthony, Eva, Ali, Nico, Olivia, Lilah, Jackson, Harper, Eden, and Elias; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Helen "Sissy" McGrath (Ted) and a brother, James Monteith (Helen).

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Sunday, November 18, 2018 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 E. Butler Ave. (at Sandy Ridge Rd.), New Britain, PA 18901 and on Monday, November 19, 2018  from 10:00 AM until her Funeral Mass 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 5194 Cold Spring Creamery Rd., Doylestown, PA 18902.  Her interment will follow in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory for the benefit of Down Syndrome Research to The Trisomy 21 Program of the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, 3550 Market St., 3rd Floor, Philadelphia, PA 19104 or to Women’s Health Research at Fox Chase Cancer Center, 333 Cottman Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19111.
