Una Grace Donnelly

November 7th, 2018

Una Grace Donnelly, of Richboro, PA died unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 7, 2018. She was 17 years old.

The beloved oldest daughter of Diane T. and Robert L. Challender, and Bikki and Conor Donnelly, Una was born in London, England and raised in Richboro.

As a first child, Una, relished her role as big sister and mentor to Paulien, Molly, Eva and Bobby. Meeting her, people immediately felt her engaging personality, noted her maturity and were impressed by her conscientiousness. Underlying all these, she was a warm, kind and gently humorous young lady with a flair for friendship - a central figure in the life of family and friends.

From a very young age Una demonstrated a real flair for school and academic studies. This continued through junior, middle and high school where she attained many achievements and awards, such as being named a National Merit semi-finalist and a member of several honors societies. She was a diligent student, enjoying the challenge of learning new things and testing traditional approaches to established views. Her ability to grasp and retain details was incredible and she was able to hold her own in debates and discussions with people much more senior. She enjoyed that immensely.

Una had a great interest in politics, journalism and art. She was a champion of the underdog and a tireless advocate for the disadvantaged.  Her goal for school was to study towards a law degree with the hope of becoming a practitioner of Constitutional Law. Her desire was to continue her pursuit of justice for those who needed it most.

Outside of her academic life, Una enjoyed other activities including the arts, photography, and skiing. She got great satisfaction learning the basics in each of these areas and then improving her skills through hard work and practice. Una enjoyed putting her skills into practice on the stage, track and slopes. She was always strong, always graceful.

She enjoyed her many trips to Ireland and spending time with both her Irish families, most especially her cousins closest in age with whom she formed a special and everlasting bond. She was a beautiful, affectionate and considerate girl whose patience and quirky humor will live forever in the hearts of her whole family.

In addition to her parents, Una will be sadly missed by her brother Bobby and her sisters, Paulien, Molly and Eva. She will be lovingly remembered by both her maternal and paternal grandparents; her great grandmother, “Gram”; her aunts, uncles, cousins; her dog Ginger; her friends at Council Rock South - in particular, Alex, her best friend - and those whose lives she touched.

Dr. David Mills Clayton

October 30th, 2018

With great regret, we announce the passing of Dr. David Mills Clayton. He passed away the morning of October 30. He was with his loving wife of 58 years, Patricia Ann Clayton and his daughter Melissa Lynne Clayton.

David was born and raised in East Falls Philadelphia. He was the loving Father of three, Jeffery David Clayton , Keith Alan Clayton and Melissa Lynne Clayton. He raised them in his beautiful home in Bucks County, Pa. while working to obtain his Ph.D. which he received from Temple University. He was a retired clinical child psychologist. All three of his children married and had children of their own. He leaves behind five wonderful grandchildren. Zachary David Clayton, AvaLynn Marie Clayton, Madilynn Quinn Clayton, Lucy Pearl Clayton, and Marston Patrick Clayton.

David lived his life to the fullest even up to the day before his passing. He and his wife traveled the world extensively often visiting areas of the world off the grid to most. On more than one occasion he hiked to the bottom of the Grand Canyon and camped at the river's edge. He spent summers taking his family on camping trips through the National Parks. He was a runner and participated in many races keeping fit to enjoy one of his greatest pastimes; gardening. He spent countless hours in his backyard sculpting an oasis of flowerbeds, trees, and shrubs. A chore of love he shared with his Wife, Patty, whom he married at the age of 21. David was a fan of the colonial period of our nation's history and visited Colonial Williamsburg on a regular basis. Their house was modeled after homes they adored and the gardens reflected the spirit associated with them. Christmas was not just a Holiday in their home but an event with extended family participation. It was filled with light, music, family, talent shows, readings, and love. It was not uncommon for David to appear dressed as Elvis at some point during Christmas night. He had a sense of humor about life that he handed down to his children and grandchildren. He will be missed as the winter hides his flowers, he will be missed as they come again in the Spring but just as his gardens grow so does what he left behind in his children and grandchildren. He was one of the most gentle, kindest men we ever have known and those attributes will still flourish in the many memories left behind. We love you, Dad, run to the light.

His services and interment will be held privately.

Rosemary P. Boyd (Coulter)

October 30th, 2018

Rosemary P. Boyd

July 30, 1929 – October 30, 2018

Rosemary Patricia [Coulter] Boyd, a loving mother, grandmother, and sister whose greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2018. The heart of our family, Rosemary’s quick wit, sassy spirit, resilience, and devotion to us will forever be inspiring.

Born on July 30, 1929 in Philadelphia, PA and a graduate of West Catholic Girls High School, Rosemary and her family became Bucks County residents in 1975, following a series of moves from Valley Forge, PA to Indianapolis, IN, Cincinnati, OH and Short Hills, NJ.  An amazing, full time mom and homemaker for many years, Rosemary also enjoyed a varied professional career with jobs ranging from administrative assistant to Helen Caro—the founder & owner of a Philadelphia retail apparel store for women—to office manager of a fine jewelry firm in Short Hills and later, entrepreneurial sales for a national fine art company. However, Rosemary’s greatest delight was working with the wonderful people at Graziano Flowers in Southampton, PA who brought much happiness to her life for more than 20 years.

Rosemary’s interests and talents were many and distinctive. She loved flowers, art (including masterpieces created by her grandchildren), movies about the Old West, and music, especially any song by Frank Sinatra and Neil Diamond, including her favorites, “New York, New York” and “Sweet Caroline” which often got her doing a sing-along with fingers snapping and toes tapping. In addition, Rosemary was an accomplished cook and baker who liked preparing new recipes, particularly for her family.  A life-long bridge player, Rosemary also took pleasure in the sights & sounds of Atlantic City—playing video poker, strolling the Boardwalk and enjoying seafood, sticky buns and a good cup of coffee.  Always a savvy shopper, Rosemary’s unrivalled, “hip” sense of style was reflected in her wardrobe, home, and special treasures for her family that she often found “in her travels”.

A proud, dear grandmother known as “Nanny” and “Mandy” to her grandchildren, Rosemary was always their #1 fan advocating a “you can do it” attitude for each goal they pursued.  She also made birthdays and holidays special—celebrating every event with love, laughter, memorable cards and charming decorations. Christmas was her favorite holiday especially its sparkling lights, beautiful angels, glittering trees and lovely carols.

Rosemary’s family is truly blessed and will forever treasure her and the joy she brought to all of us—her children, Karen Boyd Casey (Terry), Lori Boyd DiFerdinando (Bob), Robert Boyd, Jr. (Judy), J. Kevin Boyd (Sue); her grandchildren Shannon Casey Dickinson (Drew), Terry Casey V, Jessica Waskiewicz, Ryan Waskiewicz, Kevin Boyd, Jr. and Zack Boyd; and her sister Susannah Coulter Dougherty, and nephews, Patrick Dougherty (Christine) and Tim Dougherty (Malinda) and their children.  Rosemary said, “Love you lots and always,” and that’s how we feel about her.

A reception honoring Rosemary will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2018 from 10:30 am – 12:30 pm at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Ave. (at Sandy Ridge Rd.), New Britain, PA 18901. Her interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations celebrating Rosemary’s life may be directed to the “Caregivers at the Pine Run Health Center” and sent to the Pine Run Retirement Community at 777 Ferry Road, Doylestown, PA 18901.
