Donald Leist, Jr., longtime resident of Washington Crossing, died at his home on Monday, September 17, 2018.  He was 87.

Born in Washington Township, Ohio, Donald was the son of the late Donald A. and Pauline Winn Leist.

Donald proudly served in the US Navy Air Squadron.  He was stationed in Patuxent River, MD, and the Philadelphia Naval Yard.  He was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution, and had a keen interest in history.  Tracing his family genealogy was one of his favorite pastimes.  Donald spent many hours volunteering with the Boy Scouts of America with his sons as they were growing up. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, and attended the 1960 Eagles Championship game.

Donald worked for State Farm Insurance as an Agency owner for 38 years. He especially enjoyed traveling, square dancing, and spending time with his family.

Donald was a loving and devoted husband for 63 years to Josephine Ann Shirley Leist. He will be sadly missed by his sons and daughters-in-law, Donald A. and Sandra Leist, Stephen and Patricia Leist, and Michael Leist.  He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Eric (Rachel) Leist, Amy Leist, Julianne Leist and Jolene Leist.  His siblings, Gerald Leist, Marilyn Crosby, and Arlene (Bob) Minshall also survive him.  He was preceded in death by his brother, David Leist.

Donald will be laid to rest at Washington Crossing National Cemetery. His funeral service and interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Saint Ignatius of Antioch Catholic Church, 999 Reading Ave, Yardley, PA 19067.
