Ethelyn (Lyn) May Hardwick of Bensalem and formerly of Southampton, PA died peacefully on Sunday, July 22, 2018.  She was 94.

Born and raised in Toronto Canada, Lyn was the beloved wife of the late Ernest Hardwick, Jr. after they met on a cruise ship travelling the coast of British Columbia, Canada.  She was the daughter of the late William R. and Mary Lowther Johnston.

Lyn was an enthusiastic photographer, a member of local camera clubs and the Photographic Society of America.  She was an international exhibitor and her slides have been shown around the world.  Lyn was awarded a Fellowship in the Photographic Society of America in 1984 because of her ability as a Photographer and her dedication to photography.  Lyn loved to travel and made many trips around the world to 42 countries, as near as the United States and as far as Thailand, Morocco, and North Yemen and enjoyed seeking out the local culture as she was particularly interested in “people” and had received many awards for her sensitive portraits.  Lyn and her husband became interested in creating slide programs from her travels and presented their programs throughout the country.  It was a team, Lyn with her pictures and narration and her husband provided the technical end of slide projectors and sound.

Her husband was relocated to England for work from 1969 to 1973 and this gave Lyn a great opportunity to live in a new culture and meet many lifelong friends and to travel around Europe with her son and husband.

In 2002, her son found the exact 1966 Chevrolet Caprice Coupe which is in her favorite Lemonwood Yellow color that was her 1965 Christmas present from her husband.  Lyn and her son were able to enjoy several meets across the country with the 1965-66 Full Size Chevrolet Club which she really enjoyed going to and meeting new friends in “her car”.

Lyn is survived by her loving son David Hardwick of Quakertown, PA and many nieces and nephews in the Toronto, Canada area.

Lyn’s family will receive friends on Saturday, July 28, 2018 from 9:15 am until her Funeral Service at 10:00 am in the Church of the Redemption, 1101 2nd Street Pike Southampton, PA 18966.  Interment will follow in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Prospectville, PA.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, Attn. Office of Development, 2900 North Rocky Point Dr. Tampa, FL 33607.
