Isabella B. O'Brien

July 22nd, 2018

Isabella has had to deal with more than anyone should ever have to, but she has done so with a strength and attitude that has been inspiring to everyone that has had the pleasure of knowing her. Anyone who knows her can describe her infectious giggle that immediately puts a smile on your face. From first thing in the morning to the end of the day, she was always smiling, even during the toughest times.

During her tremendous battle, which has lasted almost 3 ½ years, she continued to dance, go to school, travel, and keep smiling. She always said that she would never stop fighting. She was true to her word. Her tremendous fight came to an end at about 7:00 AM on July 22nd. She passed peacefully at home with her mother holding her hand, surrounded by the incredible love and support that has helped her and her family deal with this terrible ordeal.

From when Isabella was a baby, she was always such a caring, loving, thoughtful little girl. Even during the bad times, she would concern herself with how everyone else was doing, and doing whatever she could to cheer us up. She always thought of others first.

She loved her family, school, her teachers, and her amazing friends. Isabella was blessed to have real BFFs – a term that is thrown around very casually, but she really got to experience an amazing, supportive, loving group of wonderful friends who were always there for her, especially during the bad times.

We would like to thank all of you for your endless support. Isabella really enjoyed the years of pictures, posts and messages. They helped get her through the tough times.

Thank you all for being Team Isabella.

She is survived by her loving parents, Linda and Scott O’Brien of Richboro, PA, her rock star big brother Nicolas, her maternal grandmother Patricia McDonald of Princeton, NJ, her paternal grandparents, David and Mary O’Brien of North Port, FL, her loving aunts and uncles, James McDonald of Princeton, NJ, Debbie and Bud Trench, of Boyertown, PA, Gerry and Agnes McDonald of Morrisville, PA, and Ron and Julie McDonald of Bensalem, PA, her great aunt Pat of New York City, her cousins Diana and Luke Dunlap of Pittsburgh, PA, Laura Trench and Craig Dauman, of Arlington, VA, and Matthew McDonald of Bensalem, PA, countless friends, including her BFFs Stephanie Harkins, Reese Merrill, Ava DiGrosso, Cassidy Monaghan and Emma Murphy, her teachers from both Oliver Heckman, and Richboro Elementary and her many wonderful nurses, especially Michelle and Megan, who Isabella respected most because they would never put up with her crap, and her amazing doctors, Dr. Tracey Jubelirer and Dr. Julie Stern of CHOP who were both not only her doctors, but her friends too.

A celebration of Isabella’s life will be held at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home – 800 Newtown Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.), Richboro, PA 18954  from 4:00 to 8:00PM on Friday, July 27th.  As Isabella lived a very happy, cheerful life, we are requesting you wear bright, vivid colors, preferably Disney-related, to keep this celebration as bright and vivid as Isabella’s smile.  Please do not come dressed in ALL BLACK!  We would also ask anyone that has a picture of Isabella to please bring it with you.  We will have blank picture boards to contribute to.

In lieu of flowers, we are asking for contributions to be made to several worthwhile charities.  Details for these charities are posted on www.teamisabella.org under ‘Donations’ on the main page.
