Ronald C. Cole of Southampton and formerly of Orange Park, FL and Upper Darby, PA passed away peacefully on Monday, January 15, 2018 at his home with his family by his side. He was 70.
Ron was the loving and devoted husband of 46 years to Diane L. Sterner Cole.
Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Walter Claude and Marie Jessica Drumn Cole.
Ron served proudly in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and was later employed for 30 years with the Railroad, having retired from the role of lead supervisor. During his career he had been relocated to Orange Park, FL for 18 years and just returned to Pennsylvania recently to be closer to his family.
Ron was a faithful fan of all Philadelphia Sports Teams, most especially the Philadelphia Flyers. He took great pride in his craftsmen skills and spent much of his life building and maintaining his family’s vacation home in Maine, which was a place he loved to spend time with his family. He will be remembered as a playful jokester who was steadfastly devoted to his family and friends. He will be dearly missed.
In addition to his wife, Ron is survived by his children, Nathan C. Cole of Redwood Valley, CA, Jesse A. Cole and his wife, Natalie, of Southampton, PA and Ashleigh C. Cole of Philadelphia. He also leaves behind his adoring grandchildren, Esther, Odin, and Dahlia Cole; and his brother, Walter C. Cole, and his wife, Fran, of Haddonfield, NJ and his sister-in-law Peggy Cole.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph A. Cole.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Saturday, January 27, 2018 from 12:30 until the start of his Memorial Service at 1:30 PM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.), Richboro, PA 18954. His interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the USO.
