Marie “Ging” Anderson of North Wildwood, NJ died at her daughter’s home in Newtown on Wednesday April 9, 2014 surrounded by her loving family after a short illness with Leukemia. She was 89.
Marie was the beloved wife of 51 years to the late James J. “Duke” Anderson.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Marie Trimback McAdams.
Marie spent most of her life in Philadelphia until Duke’s retirement in 1980 when they moved to North Wildwood, NJ. There they enjoyed their friends at the Villas Fishing Club and endless summers with their children and grandchildren until his death in 1997. Thereafter, she lived for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was famous for her world class breakfast and making everyone feel welcomed and loved. Marie was loved and adored by many and will be greatly missed.
Marie was the loving mother of Jim Anderson and his wife Maureen of Langhorne, Marie Vesper, her special angel, of Newtown, Curt Anderson and his wife Kathleen of Willingboro, NJ, Teresa Jermyn and her husband Rick, (Mom’s Ricky) of Holland and Maureen Anderson of Westmont, NJ. She especially adored her 9 grandchildren; Jim Anderson (Christine), Karen Bowers (Ken), Kate Kleitsch (Pete), Matt Vesper, Brian Jermyn (Liz), Caitlin Civitello (Lou), Kristin Jermyn (Chris), Justin Schmal and Erich Schmal. She was GiGi to her most recent joys, 5 great-grandchildren Colten, Abby, Maddy, Ryder and Danielle. Marie was happily awaiting the birth of her third great-grandson. She is also survived by her sister, Vera Robinson, many nieces, nephews, and “adopted” children and grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewings Sunday, April 13th from 7:00-9:00pm in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954 and on Monday, April 14th from 10:00am until her Funeral Mass 11:00am in St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 27 Kresson-Gibbsboro Road, Gibbsboro, NJ 08026.
Interment will follow at 2:00pm in Cape May County Veterans Cemetery, Cape May Court House, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Animal Welfare Association Inc., 509 Centennial Blvd., Voorhees, NJ 08043.
