Patricia A. Ziemba (Shea)

April 16th, 2014

Patricia A. Shea Ziemba of Yardley and formerly of Feasterville, PA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 16th, at Sunrise of Yardley. She was 77.

She was the beloved wife of 53 years to the late John L. Ziemba

Patricia was the daughter of the late Frank and Gladys Whittingham Shea, and sister of the late Rick Shea.

Patricia was an accomplished Ballerina who performed for many shows at the Academy of Music in Philadelphia. In her later years, Patricia enjoyed teaching cheerleading and also dance to children with special needs. Along with her husband John, Patricia loved animals and also taking care of and placing stray pets with homes that would love them as her and her husband did. Patricia will be greatly missed and always loved as a mother, sister, and friend.

Patricia is survived by her 2 loving children and their spouses; Donna L. Moser and Eric of Eastampton, NJ and J. Darryl Ziemba and Christine of Penndel, PA, and also her sister Lynn Shea.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Thursday, April 24th, from 9:30 AM until her Funeral Mass 10:30 AM at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 1900 Meadowbrook Rd., Feasterville, PA 19053.

Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, Feasterville, PA.

Charles F. Fluehr

April 15th, 2014

Charles F. Fluehr, Third Generation, of Fluehr’s Furniture Store in Philadelphia died peacefully on Tuesday April 15, 2014 of Leukemia at Einstein Hospital, Elkins Park.

Born in Philadelphia he was the beloved husband of 57 years to Anna J, Feeley Fluehr, son of the late Joseph A. Sr. and Alys C. Munch Fluehr, brother of late A. Claire O’Donovan and Joseph A. Fluehr, Jr.

Charles was the youngest child of Alys and Joe; he graduated from St. Joseph’s Preparatory School class of 1949 and received his Degree in Commerce and Business from the University of Notre Dame, class of 1953 and at the same time was commission in to the United State Navy. After serving several years in the Navy and attaining the rank of Lieutenant in the Supply Corps, serving the Seventh Fleet he retired in 1967. After returning home he joined the family Furniture business that has been in business since 1888, he followed his father and mother who in 1937 became the second generation of Fluehr’s to operate the business until their retirement. Charles F. Fluehr and his sister A. Claire began the third generation and handled the daily operations.

The store located at Front and Emerald Streets Philadelphia, was known as the 5 Floor Fluehr Furniture Store which can still be seen from the Frankford Elevated Line. Claire retired in 1986 and Charles and his 3 sons; Charles, Jr, John and Robert partnered and continue operating today, Charles retired in 1996 and his 3 sons the 4th generation operate the business today at the same location and celebrated the 125th Anniversary in 2013.

Charles had many hobbies and interests, he was an avid deep sea fisherman, who enjoyed fishing off his boat that he kept in Ocean City for the past 40 years. In the winter time he spent many of his free time working on his HO model train layout that was modeled after the Pennsylvania railroad infrastructure. He was a Boy Scout Troop leader and treasurer for Troop #220, Philadelphia Council. He will be deeply missed by his loving family and friends.

In addition to his beloved wife Charles is survived by his 3 sons; Charles F. Jr., John J. Fluehr and his wife Paula and Robert L. Fluehr. He is also survived by his 2 dear grandchildren; Taylor P. and Patrick J. Fluehr.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewings Tuesday evening from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd.(at Holland Rd.) Richboro and on Wednesday at St. William Church, 6200 Rising Sun Ave., Philadelphia, from 9:30am until his Funeral Mass 10:30am.

Interment with Military Honors will follow at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown.

Salvatore G. Sangiorgio

April 15th, 2014

Salvatore G. Sangiorgio, of Doylestown, PA died on Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at his home with his family by his side. He was 86.

He married the woman of his dreams, Louisa “Anne” Bugari on June 15, 1952. They have been married for 61 glorious years.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of Italian immigrants, the late Gaetano and Anna Barracato Sangiorgio and brother of the late Louis Sangiorgio.

Salvatore grew up in Staten Island, NY, lived in Sergeantsville, NJ and was also a resident of Perkasie, PA. He moved to Doylestown, PA in November 2013.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his 4 children Giuliana Sangiorgio of Elk Grove, CA, Lisa Sangiorgio of Bethlehem, Anita and Tucker Marko of Doylestown, and Thomas Sangiorgio of Langhorne, and his sister Rose Botti of Highland Heights, OH. He is also survived by his 2 grandchildren; Lindsay and Matthew Marko.

Sal made rich the lives of the people that got to meet and know him. Some came to know him as family, some friends, others neighbors or co-workers. He was a hard-working, devoted and loving man, steeped in tradition and family. He loved and held dear his rich, Sicilian heritage, not to be outdone by, his great love of our nation and service to the United States of America. He attended Pennsylvania Military College from 1948-1952 and served in the U.S. Army as a 1st Lieutenant. He served in the 3rd Armored Division, 37th Armored Infantry Battalion, Company D. He was a Company Commander and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. He shared these great devotions with his children and grandchildren.

His family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, April 21, from 10:00 am until his Funeral Mass at 11:00 am at St. Jude Church, 321 West Butler Ave., Chalfont, PA 18914.

His interment will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 1:30 pm in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd. Newtown, PA 18940.

Sena L. Kelly (Cusani)

April 14th, 2014

Sena L. Kelly of Saint Joseph Villa in Flourtown passed away peacefully on Monday, April 14, 2014, with her family by her side. She was 95.

She was the beloved wife of the late Patrick J. Kelly.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the beloved daughter of the late Louis and Jennie Romano Cusani, proud grandmother of the late John P. Fenningham, and dear sister of the late Salvatore Cusani.

Mrs. Kelly was a resident of Holland and formerly of Northeast Philadelphia before moving to Saint Joseph Villa 14 months ago. She was a graduate of John W. Hallahan Catholic High School for Girls, Class of 1937. For 20 years, she was employed as a payroll clerk for Crown, Cork, & Seal Company in Philadelphia before retiring 30 years ago. She was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking and writing. Her family came first and foremost in her life and she was very proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be sadly missed as a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.

Sena is survived by her two daughters, Sister Patricia M Kelly, SSJ of Richboro and Maureen D. Fenningham and her husband, John C., Esq., of Holland. She is also survived by her two loving grandchildren, Maura Ratigan and her husband, Brian, Timothy B. Fenningham and his wife, Kathleen, and her seven great grandchildren, Sean, Conor, Kelly, Austin, Aidan, Reese and Ryan.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Monday, April 21, 2014, from 10:00 AM until her Funeral Mass 11:30 AM at the Church of Saint Andrew, 81 Swamp Road, Newtown, PA 18940.

Interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem, PA.

James A. “Jim” Grisan

April 14th, 2014

James A. “Jim” Grisan of Warrington passed away suddenly Monday April 14, 2014 at Doylestown Hospital at the age of 70.

He was the beloved husband of Ann (Kuhn) Grisan for 48 years.

Born in Philadelphia, Jim was the son of the late George and Celia Szymendera Grisan and brother of the late George Grisan.

Jim had been a resident of Warrington for 44 years.

Jim played football and graduated from Northeast Catholic High School in 1961. Following High School he began his career in the Freight Logistics and Transportation Industry where he worked for several large companies and held varying levels of employment. He retired in 1994 and became the Executive Director of the Warrington Soccer Club where he was one of the original founders as well as past president. Jim’s passion and devotion for youth sports and volunteering began in 1980 when he started coaching his children in soccer and basketball. Many of Jim’s colleagues and former players were impressed with his tenacity and dedication to the development of the Warrington Soccer Club as a community standard for youth sports.

In his spare time Jim loved to go to dinner and movie with his wife Ann, traveling to his favorite beach resort Ocean City, NJ and the islands and spending time with his children, grandchildren, friends and beloved dog Maggie. He will be remembered as a kind, gentle, compassionate, quick witted man who had a soft spot in his heart for the youth soccer players of his community.

Jim’s love won’t go away, he’ll walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear.

In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by his children, Jeffrey Grisan and his wife, Nicole, Jennifer Chandler and her husband, Jason, and Kimberly Lynch and her husband, Michael; his brother, Richard Grisan and his wife, Janice; and his grandchildren, Nicholas, Amanda, Shane, Cassidy, Kendall, Olivia and Michael John.

Grace Hartranft (Hibbs )

April 13th, 2014

Grace M. Hartranft passed away Sunday April 13, 2014 at Wesleyan Enhanced Living, Doylestown. She was 91.

She was the beloved wife of the late Donald Z. Hartranft, her soulmate, with whom she shared 67 years of marriage and a lifetime of happiness.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Henry M. Hibbs and Blanche Dolby Hibbs Sabel.

Grace had been a resident of Doylestown for two years and formerly was a long time resident of York, PA for 58 years.

Grace was a graduate of Overbrook High School and following graduation she attended the former Presbyterian Hospital Nursing School where she earned her R.N. degree in nursing. After raising her four children she dedicated her life to helping others, both professionally and through extensive volunteer work with non-profit organizations including the American Cancer Society, Planned Parenthood, and FISH, a York, PA organization providing transportation for the disabled and shut-ins. She was also dedicated to her work in teaching reading to adults who had never learned.

After her husband’s retirement, Grace and Don moved to a working farm in York, PA where they spent many happy years making cherished memories with their grandchildren and family, who will treasure them forever.

In addition, Grace was an avid reader, enjoyed travelling, and playing the piano and Bridge. Grace’s loving spirit, acceptance of others and practical nature were among her most endearing qualities. Her love to all around her, most especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, will live on in the hearts of many.

Grace is survived by her children, John F. Hartranft and his wife, Margaret, of Derwood, MD, Donald J. Hartranft and his wife, Margaret, of Richboro, Thomas P. Hartranft and his wife, Susan, of Clearwater, Fla., and Joanne M. Dellefield and her husband, James, of Cincinnati, OH; her brother, Paul Hibbs of Ewing, NJ; her eight adoring grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Wednesday April 16th, from 11 AM until her funeral service 12 PM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 E. Butler Ave. (at Sandy Ridge Rd.), New Britain, PA 18901. The interment will be held privately.

Catherine L. Reichert

April 13th, 2014

Catherine L. Reichert, formerly of Roxborough died peacefully Sunday April 13, 2014 at Crestview Center, Langhorne, PA. She was 99.

Born in Philadelphia she was the beloved wife of 45 years to the late Harry J. Reichert and the daughter of the late Joseph and Marie.

Catherine attended business school after graduation and worked as a Secretary for many years in the advertising industry. Catherine was a faithful communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Parish in Manayunk for most of her life, she was a member of the Alter Society, the Sodality and gave her time and talents to many other parish organizations. She was a member of several Senior Centers in the Roxborough and Manayunk area’s before moving to Langhorne to be closer to her family.

She will be sadly missed by her devoted and caring family.

Catherine is survived by her caring children; June Reichert, Harry J. Reichert, Jr. ( Jane) and Katherine Schweiker (Mark S.). She is also survived by her 7 dear grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Wednesday April 16, from 10:00am until her Funeral Mass 11:00am at the Olde Church of St. Andrew 135 S. Sycamore St. Newtown. Interment will follow in the Parish Cemetery.

Marie A. Drobile (Benigno)

Marie A. Benigno Drobile of Holland, PA peacefully passed away on Saturday, April 12, surrounded by her family. She was 83.

She was the beloved wife of the late William A. Drobile, Jr.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Mary Piraina Benigno.

Marie has been a resident of Holland for 35 years and a faithful parishioner of St. Bede the Venerable Church in Holland where she served as an Extraordinary Minister for 14 years. She was one of the original adorers involved in the St. Bede’s Perpetual Adoration Chapel, and was the coordinator of the parish prayer chain. Marie had a passion for painting and was an accomplished artist working both with water color and oils. She also enjoyed knitting but first and foremost, she enjoyed the special times spent with her family. Marie will be greatly missed, but always remembered as a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.

She is survived by her five children; William A. Drobile III and his wife, Barbara, of Levittown, Marie C. Farrell and her husband, Paul, of Willingboro, Amelia A. Drobile of Holland, Regina E. Brittingham and her husband, Richard, of Holland, and Jennifer M. Kiriloff and her husband, William, of Churchville. She is also survived by her 8 loving grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Joseph Gerald John Baker Sr.

Joseph Gerald John Baker Sr. of Holland died Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne. He was 93.

Joe was the beloved husband of 62 years to Agnes Rafferty Baker.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late William H.F. and Marie Finnegan Baker and the brother of the late William, Marie, and Ann Latour.

Joe was born in Manayunk, grew up in Roxborough and graduated from St. John’s High School where he played basketball. He and his brother Bill enlisted in the Army in 1942 and Joe served three years in the South Pacific as part of a radar platoon. Upon his discharge in 1945, he joined the Veterans Administration in Philadelphia and progressed to the position of an Adjudication Officer helping many area veterans realize the full benefits of the GI Bill. He attended LaSalle College at night and became the first member of his family to attain a college degree in 1954. Joe and his family spent many happy years in the St. Athanasius and Nativity of Our Lord parishes. A sports enthusiast, Joe founded and coached in the basketball program of Ogontz Boys Club in West Oak Lane, where he also coached baseball teams, and upon moving to Warminster, was one of the founders of the Warminster Basketball Association. Upon his retirement in 1983, he spent much of his time watching his grandchildren participate in various sporting, musical, and academic activities and researching the family’s genealogy.

In addition to his beloved wife Agnes, Joseph is survived by his 6 loving children; Joseph J. Baker Jr. and his wife Catherine of North Wales, Mary M. Baker of Newtown, Kathleen R. Klarich and her husband Timothy of Philadelphia, Thomas B. Baker and his wife Paula of Jamison, John W. Baker of Holly Springs, NC, and Patricia B. Tento and her husband Anthony of Harleysville. He is also survived by his sister Dolores Arent, and was the devoted Pop Pop to 14 grandchildren Joe, Stephen, Mary Kate, Kevin (Kathryn), Maureen, Timmy (Annie), Brian, Colin, Brigid, Tommy, Chris, Danny, Caitlin, Brenna, and his great granddaughter Molly;

Marie “Ging” Anderson (McAdams)

April 9th, 2014

Marie “Ging” Anderson of North Wildwood, NJ died at her daughter’s home in Newtown on Wednesday April 9, 2014 surrounded by her loving family after a short illness with Leukemia. She was 89.

Marie was the beloved wife of 51 years to the late James J. “Duke” Anderson.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Marie Trimback McAdams.

Marie spent most of her life in Philadelphia until Duke’s retirement in 1980 when they moved to North Wildwood, NJ. There they enjoyed their friends at the Villas Fishing Club and endless summers with their children and grandchildren until his death in 1997. Thereafter, she lived for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was famous for her world class breakfast and making everyone feel welcomed and loved. Marie was loved and adored by many and will be greatly missed.

Marie was the loving mother of Jim Anderson and his wife Maureen of Langhorne, Marie Vesper, her special angel, of Newtown, Curt Anderson and his wife Kathleen of Willingboro, NJ, Teresa Jermyn and her husband Rick, (Mom’s Ricky) of Holland and Maureen Anderson of Westmont, NJ. She especially adored her 9 grandchildren; Jim Anderson (Christine), Karen Bowers (Ken), Kate Kleitsch (Pete), Matt Vesper, Brian Jermyn (Liz), Caitlin Civitello (Lou), Kristin Jermyn (Chris), Justin Schmal and Erich Schmal. She was GiGi to her most recent joys, 5 great-grandchildren Colten, Abby, Maddy, Ryder and Danielle. Marie was happily awaiting the birth of her third great-grandson. She is also survived by her sister, Vera Robinson, many nieces, nephews, and “adopted” children and grandchildren.
