 Charles H. Striegel of Philadelphia died Saturday, June 17, 2017 at the Delaware Valley Veterans Home in Philadelphia. He was 92.

Charles was the beloved husband of 64 years to Kathleen M. Guilfoyle Striegel.

Born in Camden, NJ, he was the son of the late Charles J. and Edna L. Stuber Striegel.

Charles was a graduate of LaSalle High School Class of 1943 and was a proud veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II. He retired after 36 years as a Salesman for Keesbey-Mattison which eventually became known as the Certain Teed Corporation. Charles was a faithful communicant of St. Dominic's Church for over 50 years. In his leisure, he was an avid sports fan and enjoyed all Philadelphia teams especially the Flyers and the Phillies.  Charles often visited light houses and would be seen reading a good book. He was also an avid bird watcher and enjoyed a good glass of wine.  He will be truly missed by his family and by all who came to know him.

In addition to his beloved wife Kathleen, Charles is survived by his children; Kathleen M. Popp and her husband Tom, Theresa P. Truitt and her husband Gary, Patricia E. Manis, Carol E. Clement and her husband Terry and Jeannette A. Schmid and her husband George. He is also survived by his sister Elizabeth O'Connell and his 11 dear grandchildren:Kevin(Tara),Erica(deceased),Kelley(Tom),Christian(Liz),Ashley(Jonathan)Jordan(Jess), Chris, Ryan(Megan), Cory, Nicholas, Sydney and  his 5 great- grandchildren; Logan, Peyton, Kadence, Kennedy and James.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Thursday, June 22nd from 9:00am until his Funeral Mass 10:00am in St. Dominic Church,   8504 Frankford Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19136. Charles' interment  with military honors will follow in St. Dominic Cemetery.
