James A. “Jim” Grisan of Warrington passed away suddenly Monday April 14, 2014 at Doylestown Hospital at the age of 70.
He was the beloved husband of Ann (Kuhn) Grisan for 48 years.
Born in Philadelphia, Jim was the son of the late George and Celia Szymendera Grisan and brother of the late George Grisan.
Jim had been a resident of Warrington for 44 years.
Jim played football and graduated from Northeast Catholic High School in 1961. Following High School he began his career in the Freight Logistics and Transportation Industry where he worked for several large companies and held varying levels of employment. He retired in 1994 and became the Executive Director of the Warrington Soccer Club where he was one of the original founders as well as past president. Jim’s passion and devotion for youth sports and volunteering began in 1980 when he started coaching his children in soccer and basketball. Many of Jim’s colleagues and former players were impressed with his tenacity and dedication to the development of the Warrington Soccer Club as a community standard for youth sports.
In his spare time Jim loved to go to dinner and movie with his wife Ann, traveling to his favorite beach resort Ocean City, NJ and the islands and spending time with his children, grandchildren, friends and beloved dog Maggie. He will be remembered as a kind, gentle, compassionate, quick witted man who had a soft spot in his heart for the youth soccer players of his community.
Jim’s love won’t go away, he’ll walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear.
In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by his children, Jeffrey Grisan and his wife, Nicole, Jennifer Chandler and her husband, Jason, and Kimberly Lynch and her husband, Michael; his brother, Richard Grisan and his wife, Janice; and his grandchildren, Nicholas, Amanda, Shane, Cassidy, Kendall, Olivia and Michael John.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewings, Monday April 21st, from 6-9 PM and again Tuesday April 22nd from 9-10:15 AM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 E. Butler Ave. (at Sandy Ridge Rd.), New Britain, PA 18901, and to his Funeral Mass 11 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 235 E. State St., Doylestown, PA 18901.
