Salvatore G. Sangiorgio, of Doylestown, PA died on Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at his home with his family by his side. He was 86.

He married the woman of his dreams, Louisa “Anne” Bugari on June 15, 1952. They have been married for 61 glorious years.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of Italian immigrants, the late Gaetano and Anna Barracato Sangiorgio and brother of the late Louis Sangiorgio.

Salvatore grew up in Staten Island, NY, lived in Sergeantsville, NJ and was also a resident of Perkasie, PA. He moved to Doylestown, PA in November 2013.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his 4 children Giuliana Sangiorgio of Elk Grove, CA, Lisa Sangiorgio of Bethlehem, Anita and Tucker Marko of Doylestown, and Thomas Sangiorgio of Langhorne, and his sister Rose Botti of Highland Heights, OH. He is also survived by his 2 grandchildren; Lindsay and Matthew Marko.

Sal made rich the lives of the people that got to meet and know him. Some came to know him as family, some friends, others neighbors or co-workers. He was a hard-working, devoted and loving man, steeped in tradition and family. He loved and held dear his rich, Sicilian heritage, not to be outdone by, his great love of our nation and service to the United States of America. He attended Pennsylvania Military College from 1948-1952 and served in the U.S. Army as a 1st Lieutenant. He served in the 3rd Armored Division, 37th Armored Infantry Battalion, Company D. He was a Company Commander and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. He shared these great devotions with his children and grandchildren.

His family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, April 21, from 10:00 am until his Funeral Mass at 11:00 am at St. Jude Church, 321 West Butler Ave., Chalfont, PA 18914.

His interment will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 1:30 pm in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd. Newtown, PA 18940.
