William “Bill” Myles McTiernan of Warminster, PA passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at the age of 91.

William was the beloved husband of Carol Bianchi McTiernan and the loving and devoted father of Debbie McDermott and the late Karen Caggiano.

William enjoyed life and loved his family. He was born in Brooklyn, New York and was a United States Navy veteran of World War II, where he served as a Pharmacist Mate Third Class in Okinawa, Guam and other Pacific theatre engagements. After returning home, William supported himself through college while raising a family and graduated from Pace University with a degree in Accounting in 1956. He met his wife Carol at the New York Federal Reserve Bank in 1949 and they were happily married for 64 years.

For most of his career, William worked at Standard Brands, which later became Nabisco Brands as a tax accountant before retiring in the early 1990s. He enjoyed singing in church and leading all family choruses of Happy Birthday. William enjoyed following the stock exchange and commodities markets, college football and basketball, and watching the Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN). William was devoted to Jesus Christ and the Divine Mercy devotion, and attended daily mass at St. Vincent de Paul parish in Richboro.

In addition to his wife, Carol, William is survived by his daughter, Debbie McDermott and her husband, Sean, as well as his grandchildren: Captain Jacqueline McDermott Wintch, USAF and her husband, Captain Timothy Wintch, USAF; Jennifer Daniels and her husband, Will; Matthew McDermott and his wife, Jenna, and Caroline McDermott, and her fiancé, Dillon Madrigal.

In addition to his daughter, Karen, William was preceded in death by his brothers, John “Jackie”, James “Jimmy”, and Peter McTiernan and his sister, Theresa Brown.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Friday, February 24, 2017 at 12:00 PM at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 654 Hatboro Rd., Richboro, PA 18954. A Funeral Mass will begin at 1:00 PM followed by William’s interment at Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery in Doylestown, PA.
