Donna Maria Black of Philadelphia, PA, died peacefully on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Jeanes Hospital in Philadelphia. She was 72.
Born in Sacramento, CA, she was the daughter of the late William and Rita Gallagher Black.
Donna led a long career of 25 years with the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare and was an avid and talented gardener. She was also an active member of Calvary Chapel of Philadelphia where she most enjoyed attending her Bible Study.
Above all else, Donna will be remembered for her kind and gentle nature. She was a beloved sister, aunt, and “second mother” to her nieces and nephews and she will be dearly missed.
Donna is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Rita L. and Joseph Flynn, her nieces and their husbands, Marita and Nathan Rutko, and Michelle and Robert Young; her nephew and Godson, and his partner, William Flynn and Megan McKenna and her great nephews, Daniel and Shawn Young.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Saturday, October 22, 2016 from 1:00 PM until her Prayer Service at 3:00 PM at the Joseph A. Fluehr, III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Donna’s name to the American Cancer Society, 1626 Locust St., Philadelphia, PA 19103.
