Joanne (Nakonechy) Pravata of Pipersville and formerly of Staten Island, NY, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 with her loving husband by her side at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. She was 61.
Joanne was the loving and devoted wife of Ronald J. Pravata.
Born on Staten Island, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Rose (Castaldi) Nakonechy.
A graduate of Curtis High School, Joanne was a customer service representative for Staten Island Savings Bank before relocating to Pennsylvania in 1998 where she continued her career with Citizens Bank.
She was an avid skier and her favorite place to hit the slopes was Pico Mountain, VT, a place that was very close to her heart. Along with her husband she also treasured vacations in Myrtle Beach, SC. She was a talented cook and was the happiest creating delicious meals for her friends and family. She will be dearly missed.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her brother, Karl Nakonechy (Linda), her sister, Katherine Moore (the late Robert); her cousins, Annette Heintz (Bill) and Bud Coleman; her goddaughter, Barbara Heintz; her godson, Christopher Antkies; her nieces, Candace Antkies, Robyn Moore, Kerry Taylor, and Katelyn Antkies; her nephew, Richard Pravata; and her brother-in-law, Frank Pravata.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Sunday, September 25, 2016 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 E. Butler Ave. (at Sandy Ridge Rd.), New Britain, PA 18901 and to her Funeral Mass on Monday, September 26, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 235 E. State St., Doylestown, PA 18901.
