Kathryn P. “Kass” McPherson of Harleysville passed away on Wednesday August 24, 2016 at Grandview Hospital in Sellersville. She was 87.
Kass was the beloved wife of 61 years to the late John C. McPherson.
Born in Camden, NJ she was the daughter of the late Harry R. and Irene J. Sullivan Janice.
Proudly raised in Haddonfield, NJ, Kass was employed as Executive Secretary to the owner of Campbell Soup, during which time she developed countless long lasting friendships.
Along with her husband and family, Kass lived in Philadelphia before later relocating to Furlong, PA and ultimately spending the last several years in Harleysville at the Birches at Arbour Square.
Kass had a thirst for knowledge. She especially enjoyed reading about Egyptian History and the Pyramids. She also excelled at crafting, including Macrame.
Above all else Kass’ family and friends were always at the forefront for her. Family gatherings for the holidays, summers spent at the beach on Long Beach Island, or simple quiet evenings at home, her devotion to those most important to her never waivered. She couldn’t get enough time spent with her loving children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and dear friends. She will be dearly missed.
Surviving are her 4 sons; John and Lynne McPherson of Perkasie, Gary and Lori McPherson of Wrightstown, Mark McPherson of Warrington, Glenn and Cathy McPherson of Barnegat, NJ. She is also survived by her 6 grandchildren: Melissa, Stefanie, Christine, Jason, Kimberly, Adam; her 2 great-grandchildren: Ethan and Natalie; and her sister, Evelyn O’Brian and her cousin, Pat Janiszewski.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing, Monday, August 29, 2016 from 9:30 am until her Funeral Mass 10:30 am at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Rd., Holland, PA 18966. Her interment will follow in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, Langhorne.
