Irene Staniewski of Yardley, PA died peacefully on Monday, July 4, 2016, at Brookdale Northampton, Richboro, PA. She was 88.

She was the beloved wife of the late Marjan Staniewski.

Born in Lublin, Poland, she was the daughter of the late Michal and Karolina Wojcik Litwinski.

Mrs. Staniewski was a resident of Yardley for the past 2 ½ years and formerly lived in the Port Richmond section of Philadelphia from 1951 until 2012. From 1958 until retiring in 2012, Irene was the owner of Irene’s Dry Cleaning located in Port Richmond. She was affectionately known as “Irene the Tailor” and became a seamstress while operating her business.

In her leisure time she always enjoyed sewing, besides it being a part of her business, and gardening. Irene was family oriented and cherished the special times spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her two daughters, Christine T. Phillips of Yardley, PA and Jadwiga Yates and her husband, Dennis, of Henderson, NV, her two grandsons, Kenneth J. Phillips and Darren P. Phillips and his wife, Jeanne. She is also survived by her two great grandsons, Nathan & Shane Phillips.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Friday, July 8, 2016, from 10:00 AM until her Funeral Service 11:00 AM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 E. Butler Avenue (at Sandy Ridge Road) New Britain, PA 18901. Interment will take place at Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery, Doylestown, PA.
