Joan B. Sweeney, a long time resident of Langhorne and Trevose, passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at her home with her loving family by her side. She was 77.
Joan was the beloved wife of 50 years to the late William E. Sweeney who passed away in 2007.
Born in Philadelphia she was a daughter of the late LaVern and Katherine Hallman Quay and grandmother of the late Brooke Miller.
Joan attended Olney High School and later met and married her beloved husband Bill and together they raised their family. She was gregarious, friendly, and a great lover of animals.
Most of all Joan will be remembered as a true family woman. Her unwavering dedication to her daughters, grandchildren and her entire family was admired by all who knew her. Her strength, perseverance, and determination in the face of adversity were a true inspiration to all and she will be dearly missed.
Surviving are her daughters, Beth Miller (Paul Brady), Alison Annan (Michael Annan) and Melanie Moffatt (Patrick Moffatt). She also leaves behind her adoring grandchildren, Michael R. Miller, Michael W. and Madison A. Annan and Chase P. and Logan T. Moffatt; and her siblings, Debbie Leigh, Gail Zimmerman and Byron “Louie” Quay.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM and on Thursday, July 7, 2016 from 9:00 AM until her funeral service 10:00 AM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.), Richboro, PA 18954. Her interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Feasterville.
