Lotte Rarick of Holland passed peacefully on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne. She was 92.
She was the beloved wife of the late William L. Rarick.
Born in Frankfurt, Germany she was a longtime resident of Holland and had worked as a sales clerk for Strawbridge & Clothier for over 20 years.
Lotte is survived by her dear granddaughter Stephanie Rarick; close friends Friedel & Dave Smith and their son Norman and family, and Brigitte Galley and her sons Keith & Scott and family. She was the daughter of the late Friedrich and Anna Mehl
Lotte grew up in Germany and lived through the bombing and invasion of Frankfurt by Allied forces. She arrived in the United States by ship from across the "Pond" in Hoboken where close friends Dave and Friedel Smith sponsored her to enter the country. It was in Pennsylvania, shortly after she arrived, that she met her future husband Bill and became a U.S. Citizen.
Lotte was an avid reader, loved crossword puzzles, traveling and keeping up with the latest in the world. She was so proud to be an American citizen. Spunky and independent until the end, her memory will definitely not be forgotten!
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Tuesday, December 15, 2015, from 1:30 PM until her Funeral Service 3:30 PM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Road), Richboro, PA 18954. Her interment will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 16th at 11:00 AM in the Fleetwood Cemetery, 203 East Main Street, Fleetwood, PA 19522.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 5455 N. High Street, Columbus, OH 43214.
