Paul W. Wachtendorf, Sr.

December 14th, 2015

Paul W. Wachtendorf, Sr. of Levittown died peacefully on Monday, December 14, 2015, at his home surrounded by his family. He was 79.

Born in Philadelphia Paul was the beloved husband of the late Janet L. Devlin Wachtendorf, son of the late Alfred T. and Eleanor Huetger Wachtendorf, brother of the late Alfred and Richard Wachtendorf. 

Paul was a resident of Langhorne in Bucks County for many years before moving to Levittown in 1961.

Paul was a proud alumnus of the first graduating class of Neshaminy High School in 1954. He was an accomplished machinist in the automotive industry, having worked for 25 years at Sodano’s Auto Parts as well as several other companies until he retired in 2005.

Paul had varied interests which he would love to tell everyone about. He loved to go camping with his RV, enjoyed spending many quiet hours bird watching and tinkering with automobiles. Whenever he could help a friend in need, Paul was always willing to lend his time. He will be sadly missed especially for his generous smile and quick wit.

Paul is survived by his devoted children and their spouses; Paul W. Wachtendorf, Jr., Bruce Allan Wachtendorf and his wife Dianne, Eileen Antonelly and her husband Anthony, he is also survived by a step sister Eleanor Shaw and her husband Frank, 2 sisters-in-law Patricia Wachtendorf, and Anne Wachtendorf; his 8 grandchildren (Jeff, Doug, Megan, Eric, Brett, Christopher, Alyssa, Brianna- and a soon to be first great grandchild), and his good friend and companion Charlotte Walter.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewings Friday evening December 18th, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, and Saturday December 19th at the Langhorne Presbyterian Church 125 E. Gillam Ave. Langhorne, from 9:00am until his Funeral service 10:00AM.  Interment to follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Warminster.

William L. Neudecker

December 13th, 2015

William L. Neudecker of Buckingham Springs, died peacefully on Sunday, December 13 2015, at Neshaminy Manor. He was 88.

He was the beloved husband of 65 years to Lois LeMaitre Neudecker

Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Leonard and Sarah Steele Neudecker, brother of the late Robert, and father of the late Jodi McKeever.

William was a proud Veteran of the Marine Corps who served during World War II. He was a graduate of Temple University with a degree in accounting who helped his brother operate Colonial 5 and 10 in Newtown. William also represented the National Life and Accident Insurance Company as an agent for many years and he worked as a clerk in the Southampton Post Office. He was an active and supportive member Knight of Pythias Newtown Lodge #335 for over 50 years.  

In addition to his wife, William is survived by his sons and their spouses; Kenneth and Anne of Warrington and Robert and Sabrina Neudecker of Telford. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren Kyle and Annika.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Monday, December 21st, from 10:00 am until his Funeral Service 11:15 at the Addisville Reformed Church 945 Second Street Pike, Richboro, PA 18954. Interment will follow in Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown.

Rudolph Paul

December 13th, 2015

Rudolph Paul, of Wyncote, PA died on Sunday, December 13, 2015, at Hillcrest Nursing Home. He was 71.

Born in Verbas, Yugoslavia, he was the son of the late Wilhelm and Christine Gabel Paul.

Rudolph was a former active member of the St. James United Methodist Church and the Boy Scouts in Olney.

He is survived by his cousins and his many good friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewings; Thursday evening, December 17th from 7:00-9:00pm and on Friday, December 18th from 9:00am until his Funeral Service 10:00am all in the Joseph A. Shirley “Dib Dib” Roache (Stevenson)

December 11th, 2015

Shirley “Dib Dib” Roache, of Warminster, PA passed peacefully on Friday, December 11, 2015, at the Artman Lutheran Home.  She was 76.

She was the beloved wife of 50 years to the late Robert F. Roache.

Born in Hazelton, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Hazel Hinz Stevenson and sister of the late John Stevenson.

Shirley grew up in Hazelton and moved to Philadelphia when she was 13 and it was then that her grandmother introduced her to her future husband, Robert.  They married in 1959 and remained in Philadelphia until 1967, when the family moved to Warminster and into St. Robert Bellarmine parish.  She was a die hard Phillies fan and loved going to see them play, especially with her daughter and granddaughter.  The love and support that she gave to her family will always be cherished.

She is survived by her daughter Vicki Lelli and her husband Robert of Chalfont, her son Robert Roache and his wife Giselle of Hatboro, her sister Alice Shook of Tunkhannock, PA, a brother in law Jack Roache of Langhorne, and a sister in law Frances Sauder of Abington.  She is also survived by her loving and devoted granddaughter Jessica, who will always remember her as “Dib Dib”.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing, Monday, December 14, 2015 from 9:30AM until her Concelebrated Funeral Mass 11:00AM at St. Jude Church, 321 West Butler Ave., Chalfont, PA 18914.  Her interment will follow in St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont.

Harold W. Smith

December 11th, 2015

Harold W. Smith of Sellersville, PA died peacefully on Friday, December 11, 2015, at Rockhill Mennonite Community, Sellersville, PA.  He was 91.

He was the beloved husband of Annie R. Huff Smith for 69 years. Born in Doylestown, PA, he was the son of the late Edwin and Ruth Wentz Smith.

Harold was a resident of New Britain Borough for 66 years before moving to Rockhill Mennonite Community 3 years ago.  He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army having served during World War II.  In 1947 he started his own business, Smith Mobile, located in New Britain and 10 years later he expanded his business to Smith Marine, which was passed down to his sons and is still in operation today.  He enjoyed what he did for a living and was always busy at work.  In his leisure time, he would take his family on weekend getaways, including boating and snowmobiling at Lake Wallenpaupack, where many cherished memories were made. Harold was very family-oriented and always enjoyed the special times spent with his children and grandchildren.  Five months ago he became a great grandfather, which made him extremely proud.  He will be missed as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his three sons, Thomas L. Smith and his wife, Lori, of Old Forge, NY, Jack W. Smith and his wife, Karen, of Jamison, PA, Chuck M. Smith and his wife, Donna, of Perkasie, PA, his brother, Wilbur Smith and his wife, Joan, of Boonville, NY and his sister, Katherine Quinby of Buckingham, PA.  Furthermore, he is survived by 6 loving grandchildren: Thomas Smith Jr., Doug Smith, Ryan Smith, Jennifer Smith, Erica Lehneis (Michael Mullen), Tori Smith and his great granddaughter, Everly Mullen.

Family and friends are invited on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 from 10:00AM until his Funeral Service 11:00AM, at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Avenue (at Sandy Ridge Road), New Britain, PA 18901.  Interment will take place at Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Prospectville, PA.

Eric A. Koerber

December 11th, 2015

Eric A. Koerber of Oakford died peacefully and went home to God on Friday, December 11, 2015 in the presence of his family in his home.  He was 80.

He was the beloved husband of 58 years to Margie Patterson Koerber.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Erich and Hedwig Olga Koerber.

Eric was a proud veteran of the Army where he served as a medic.  He worked at Mercer Hospital for 38 years and excelled to the position of Chief Technician of the Blood Bank.  Eric was a Past Master of Masonic Lodge 292 and the Chaplian for the Blue Lodge and for the Chapter. He was an active and faithful member of New Life Christian Church for many years.  He will be greatly missed by everyone who has had the pleasure to know and love him.

In addition to his wife Margie, Eric is survived by his daughters Sherri Straight and her husband Tim of Bensalem and Kim Phillips and her husband Bill of Philadelphia.  He is also survived by his grandchildren Kristina Mraz (Nick) and Mike Straight (Susan), 6 great grandchildren, and Banfi his furry grandchild.

Relatives, friends, and fellow Masons are invited to attend his viewing on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 from 5:30PM until his Masonic Service and Celebration of Life with Rev. Dr. Norman J. Harry was the son of the late Harry W. and Bertha Liebau Walters and brother of the late Eleanor Ruth Goodwin, Dorothy W. Fickett, and Roy Walters. He is survived by his brother Robert and his nieces Janice Lynn Fetterolf (Earle), Linda Joan Zepp (Gary), Karen Smilnak (James) and his nephews Hal Goodwin, Scott (Carol), Roy and Everett Fickett Roy (Kate) and Paul (Lee Ann) Walters.

Joseph Sellers Sr.

Joseph Sellers Sr. formerly of the Somerton section of Philadelphia and Jamison, PA, died peacefully on Thursday, December 10, 2015, at Arden Courts, Warminster. He was 77.

He was the beloved husband of the late Elizabeth H. Sellers.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Robert and Mary Elizabeth O’Connor Sellers. He was predeceased by his 4 brothers and 2 sisters.

Mr. Sellers had lived in Somerton for 15 years and was a resident of Jamison for 6 years. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. Before his retirement in 2000, he worked for 40 years as a sheet metal worker and was a member and union official of Sheet Metal Workers Local #19 in Philadelphia. After his retirement, he remained active with the union and his church. Many years ago, Tabor Rams Youth Organization was an important part of his life and that of his family. In his leisure time, he enjoyed fishing and hunting. He especially enjoyed the times spent with his children and grandchildren. He will be sadly missed as a devoted father, grandfather and friend to all who knew him.

He is survived by his son, Joseph Sellers Jr. and his wife, Elizabeth, of Arlington, VA, Elizabeth A. Sellers of Holland, PA, and Anne M. Lavancher and her husband, Jay, of Corning, NY. He is also survived by his three loving grandchildren, Ashley Forsythe, Nicholas Sellers and Alexandra Sellers.

Lotte Rarick

December 9th, 2015

Lotte Rarick of Holland passed peacefully on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne. She was 92.

She was the beloved wife of the late William L. Rarick.

Born in Frankfurt, Germany she was a longtime resident of Holland and had worked as a sales clerk for Strawbridge & Clothier for over 20 years.

Lotte is survived by her dear granddaughter Stephanie Rarick; close friends Friedel & Dave Smith and their son Norman and family, and Brigitte Galley and her sons Keith & Scott and family.  She was the daughter of the late Friedrich and Anna Mehl

Lotte grew up in Germany and lived through the bombing and invasion of Frankfurt by Allied forces.  She arrived in the United States by ship from across the "Pond" in Hoboken where close friends Dave and Friedel Smith sponsored her to enter the country.  It was in Pennsylvania, shortly after she arrived, that she met her future husband Bill and became a U.S. Citizen.

Lotte was an avid reader, loved crossword puzzles, traveling and keeping up with the latest in the world.  She was so proud to be an American citizen.  Spunky and independent until the end, her memory will definitely not be forgotten!

Helen was the beloved wife of the late Ralph M. Mongell, a WWII Veteran. She was the dearest mother of the late Lorraine Rose and Marie Joyce Mongell. She is also survived by her grandson Thomas Francis Kearney IV and his wife Leigh Ann and her 2 great grandchildren Amanda Lorraine and Thomas Francis Kearney V.
