Michael J. Thorrick, of Perkasie, slipped away peacefully at his residence on Friday, December 4, 2015. He was surrounded by loving family. He was 65.

Michael was the beloved husband of Debra A. Gifford Thorrick for 36 years.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Michael and Ruth Steckel Thorrick.

Mr. Thorrick was a resident of Perkasie since 1988 and formerly lived in Southampton, where he grew up. He graduated from William Tennent High School in Warminster, Class of 1968. He was a member of the United States Marine Corps Reserves for 6 years, being Honorably Discharged in 1976, achieving the rank of Corporal. Michael joined the Marine Sharp-shooting Team and traveled across the country with them, competing in events and winning medals and trophies.

Michael spent his working career in sales. He sold everything from automobiles, to furniture, to mattresses. He and Debra first met, when he sold her a car in 1978.

In his leisure time, he loved to ride his Harley with friends. If he wasn't riding it, he could be seen washing and polishing it, or customizing the parts. He was an avid car enthusiast, sharing his passion for cars with his daughters. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed working in his yard. A vacation to the Outer Banks, NC in September with his family was a special event for him. Being family oriented, he always enjoyed the special times spent with family. He will be sadly missed as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Meghan L. Thorrick and Shannen M. Thorrick, both of Perkasie. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Ann Black and her husband, Lawrence, of Quakertown, his brother Joseph Thorrick of Wildwood, NJ and his loving granddaughter, Lilyana G. Thorrick.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet his family on Thursday, December 10, 2015, from 8:30 AM until 10:15 AM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Avenue (at Sandy Ridge Road), New Britain, PA 18901 and to his Funeral Mass 11:00 AM at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, 100 Broad Street, Hilltown, PA 18927. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the family for deposit into an education fund for Lilyana.
