Loretta P. Hettrick of Doylestown passed away with her family by her side on Friday July 31, 2015 at Abington Hospice at Warminster. She was 82.

She was the beloved wife of the late Gerald P. Hettrick with whom she shared 48 years of marriage.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Marde and Veronica Mach Palner and sister of Robert Palner.

Loretta graduated from Frankford High School and earned her Bachelor’s degree from West Chester University. She was a teacher in the Pennridge School District retiring in 1993 after 25 years of service.

Loretta spent treasured time with family and friends in Sunset Beach, NC. An amazing cook, her kitchen was a special place where she shared her culinary delights.

Sharp of mind, she was an avid reader and an expert in current events. Soft of cheek, she placed everyone before herself, always giving with an endearing smile and gentle touch.

Above all else, Loretta’s family was the centerpiece and highlight of her life and she will be dearly missed as a loving mother, adoring “GMom” and soon-to-be great-grandmother.

Loretta is survived by her children, Sharon Hettrick-Histand and her husband, Jeffrey, of Chalfont, Gary Hettrick and his wife, Lisa, of San Diego, CA, and David Hettrick of Doylestown. She was also “GMom” to her adoring grandchildren, Matthew Histand (Meghan), Alyson Mueller (Hans), Andrew Histand (Paige), Blaire Cunningham (David), Stephen Histand, Grant, Larsen and Conrad Hettrick. Loretta was also anticipating the arrival of her first great-grandchild, due in September.

A celebration of Loretta’s life will he held privately at the convenience of the family.
