Shirley L. Houtz of Berlin, NJ passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at Spring Oak Assisted Living. She was 84.

Shirley was the wife of the late Donald S. Houtz who passed away July 1, 2009.

She was born November 20, 1930 in Mifflintown, PA. She was a daughter of the late William E. and Mabel Wright Switzer.

Shirley enjoyed collecting dolls, making crafts and sewing.  She even used her sewing talents to clothe her children as they grew 

She is survived by her five children; Pamela Horvath and her husband Steve of Woodlynne, NJ, Dennis Houtz and his wife Nancy of Richboro, Denise Chiarlanza and her husband Bob of Feasterville, Sue Swider of Cinnaminson, NJ and Cheryl Smith and her husband Ernie of Sicklerville, NJ; eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley was preceded in death by her son-in-law Bud Swider and her seventeen siblings.

Relatives and friends are invited to Shirley’s visitation on Monday, July 27, 2015 from 10:00 am until the time of the memorial service at 11:00 am at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home Inc. 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. Richboro, PA 18954. Her interment will follow in Rosedale Memorial Park in Bensalem.
