James D. Wallace Sr. of Newtown, PA died peacefully on Monday, July 13, 2015, surrounded by his family at Chandler Hall Hospice, Newtown. He was 82.

He was the beloved husband of Carolyn Uncapher Wallace for 61 years.

Born in Blawnox, PA, he was the son of the late James B. and Ruth McAleer Wallace.

Mr. Wallace was a resident of the Newtown and Yardley area for 50 years. He graduated from Massanutten Military Academy in Woodstock, VA, Class of 1950. He went on to receive his bachelor degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from Penn State University in 1954. For over 40 years, he was the owner of the Continental Tavern located in Yardley. Mr. Wallace was a past president of Bucks County Chapter of the PA Restaurant Association. In his leisure time, he enjoyed golfing, jazz music, enjoyed Penn State football and was a true fan of both the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers. He cherished the special times spent on family vacations at the Delaware beaches. He will be sadly missed as a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his three children, James D. Wallace Jr. and his wife, Barbara, of Chalfont, Jeffrey A. Wallace and his wife, Kathleen, of Newtown and Nancy W. Force and her husband, Lance, of Tampa, FL. He is also survived by his four loving grandchildren; David Wallace, Andrew Wallace and his wife,Lauren, James D. Wallace III, Haley Wallace and 3 great grandchildren; Sophia, Genevieve and Juliette.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, July 17, 2015, from 1:00 PM until his Funeral Service 2:00 PM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Road), Richboro, PA 18954. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Delaware Valley Chapter, 399 Market Street, Suite 102, Philadelphia, PA 19106.
