Leonard V. Doughty Jr. “Bud” of North Wales, PA died on Monday, April 13, 2015, at Doylestown Hospital surrounded by his family. He was 79.
He was the beloved husband of Aileen A. Kinkaid Doughty for 59 years.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of Leonard V. Sr. and Elizabeth Magee Doughty and brother of the late Elizabeth Drum.
Before recently moving to North Wales, Bud was a resident of Jamison for 15 years and formerly lived in Feasterville for 39 years. Bud graduated from West Catholic High School for Boys in Philadelphia, Class of 1952. He was employed as a business and property manager in the real estate industry for 40 years. He was a faithful member of the Men of Malvern. He loved all of the Philadelphia sports teams and was an avid fan. One of his favorite pastimes was spending time at the beach at the beach. He especially enjoyed the times spent with his children and grandchildren. Bud will be sadly missed as a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother.
In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his seven children, Leonard V. Doughty III and his wife, Linda, of Holland, PA, Aileen A. Widerman and her husband, Richard, of Cherry Hill, NJ, Stephen J. Doughty of North Wales, Maureen T. Masturzo of North Wales, Kathleen J. Chapman and her husband, Allen, of Hatfield, Regina M. Doughty and Denny Gross of North Wales, and Lisa V. Cothery and her partner, Sue Swoyer, of Horsham, PA. Bud is also survived by his 3 brothers, William Doughty of Asheville, NC, Edward Doughty of Morton, PA, James Doughty of Havertown, PA and 10 loving grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewings on Thursday evening, April 16, 2015, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Road), Richboro, PA 18954 and on Friday, April 17, 2015, from 10:00 AM until his Funeral Mass 11:00 AM at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Road, Holland, PA 18966. Interment will take place at St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont, PA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Malvern Retreat House, P.O. Box 315, Attn: Development Office, Malvern, PA 19355.
