Kevin Cornish of Holland passed away suddenly on Saturday, January 31, 2015. He was competing in the annual 19154, 5K Community Charity race in Northeast Philadelphia. He was 42.

 

Born in Philadelphia, Kevin was the beloved husband of Tina D. Paskanik Cornish for the past 15 years. In addition to his beloved wife Tina, he is the loving father of Morgan Elizabeth whom he adored. He was the devoted son of Thomas M. Cornish and the late Diane E. Boudwin Cornish. He is also survived by his sister Suzanne Comisac and her husband Christopher, his mother-in-law Kathleen D. Flood and a niece Katie Comisac. 

Kevin was a resident of Holland for the past 4 years having formerly lived in Southampton. He was a graduate of William Tennent High School, class of 1990 and received his Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice from West Chester University in 1994.

 

Kevin was part of the ROTC of the United States Army during his college years. Kevin was also a former Secret Service Agent. He was a dedicated member of the Bensalem Police Department since 1998. Kevin was an Officer and member of the Motor Patrol Unit. He was promoted to Detective in March of 2007.

 

Detective Cornish was assigned to the Special Victims Unit and was recently honored as Officer of the Year by the Bensalem Rotary Club. Kevin exemplified the rotary’s mission of service above self for his hard work in raising funds and spearheading a campaign for 2 young girls who were removed from an abusive home. Kevin directed the funds for clothes, school supplies and accessories at their foster home.

 

Kevin donated his time and talents both in and out of uniform. He was a Soccer coach for Council Rock United Soccer Association, and the UGH Club, Trevose. He will truly be remembered for his honesty, integrity and for believing in family and caring about young children of all walks of life.

 

Relatives, friends and Law Enforcement Officers are invited to attend his viewing Wednesday evening from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm and Thursday morning from 10:00 am until his Funeral Service 12:00 pm at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro.

 

Interment will follow in Newtown Cemetery, Newtown.

 

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Bucks County Children and Youth, Heritage Center, Building 500, Heritage Center Dr. Furlong, PA 18925.
