Vincent W. McNamee, Jr., formerly of Philadelphia, died on Monday, March 14, 2011, at St. Mary Medical Center of injuries sustained from a motorcycle accident. He was 72.
He was the beloved husband of 48 years to Maryann Klusman McNamee. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Vincent and Marie Gore McNamee.
Vince was a resident of Hilltown for the past 3 years, having formerly lived in Newtown for over 16 years. He attended Northeast Public High School and was a veteran of the National Guard. Vince retired in 1986 after 25 years of service with the Philadelphia Police Department, where he was a Detective in the Major Crimes Division.
Vince enjoyed life to the fullest; he looked forward to working on his cars and riding his motorcycles. What he loved the most was his wife and family, especially his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed, by all that came to know and love him.
In addition to his beloved wife, he is also survived by his devoted children; Vincent W. McNamee, III and his wife Johanna of Newtown, Christine Walsh and her husband Brian of Bedminster, Beth Manville and her husband Dennis of Hilltown and June Matthews and her husband Kevin of Hilltown, he is also survived by his brother Robert McNamee of Fla., and his sister Patricia Doer of Allentown and his 11 dear grandchildren.
Vince’s family will receive condolences on Saturday, March 19, 2011 from 9:00am until his Funeral Service at 10:30am at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home 241 E. Butler Ave. (Route 202 @ Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain PA.
Interment will follow in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Hilltown, PA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Oncology Research, 34th and Civic Center Blvd. Phila PA 19104.
