James F. Carroll of Washington Crossing died peacefully on Friday, March 25, 2011, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on June 28, 1928, in New Rochelle, New York, he was the son of the late James F., a New York fire chief; and Katherine Grattan Carroll. He married Mary Jane Kelsh of Bronxville, NY in 1956.

Mr. Carroll graduated from Iona College. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army where he served his country during the Korean conflict. He later was accepted to the Army’s prestigious Counter Intelligence Corps.

After completing the executive training program at General Motors Acceptance Corporation (GMAC) in New York City, Jim worked at GMAC for 40 years in financial senior management and managed several GMAC east coast financial operations.

In addition to his beloved wife of 55 years, Jim is also survived by his two daughters and his sons-in law, Mary Feely and William of Langhorne, PA, and Joanne Skahill and Michael of Williamsburg, VA. Jim considered his five grandchildren Katelin, Sean and Bridget Feely, and Madeline and Connor Skahill his crowning achievement. Jim is also survived by his sister, Barbara Ferry.

Mr. Carroll’s Family will receive condolences on Tuesday, March 29, 2011, from 8:30 AM until his Funeral Mass 9:30 AM at the Olde Church of Saint Andrew, 135 S. Sycamore Street, Newtown, PA 18940. Interment will take place with Military Honors at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown.
