Martin J. Doyle “Marty”, of Southampton, formerly of Somerton, died on Monday, October 24, 2011 at Southampton Estates Health Care. He was 84.
He was the beloved husband of 56 years to Anne Connolly Doyle.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Martin J. and Ella C. Maley Doyle.
After graduating from North Catholic HS, Marty enlisted in the United States Navy and served in World War II. Marty studied Finance at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. After graduation he went on to work at the Naval Shipyard in South Philadelphia, the City of Philadelphia, and the IRS. Marty was deeply devoted to his family. He enjoyed everything from the annual family vacations to the Jersey shore to his grandchildren’s soccer games, to an impromptu cookout in the backyard. His kindness, his honesty and integrity are his greatest legacy to his family. Marty was well known for his quick wit. His keen sense of humor and wonderful talent for making us laugh will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his beloved wife he is also survived by his children Patricia Zaneski and her husband Thomas of Chalfont, Eileen Doyle-Rosseljong and her husband David Rosseljong of Langhorne, Bethanne Adamsky and her husband Brian of Jamison, Martin Doyle and his wife Christine of Holland, and Michael Doyle of Huntingdon Valley. He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren; Meghan and Caitlin Zaneski, Casey and Kevin Rosseljong, Michael and Kevin Adamsky, Nicholas, Emilie, Sean and Caroline Doyle.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing, Saturday, October 29, 2011 from 9:30AM until his Funeral Mass 11:00 AM, at St. Christopher Church, 13301 Proctor Road, Philadelphia, PA 19116. Int. Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem.
