Linda Ann Toland of Perkasie, PA died peacefully at home on Tuesday, January 31, 2012. She was 42.

She was the beloved wife of 12 years to Paul Toland and loving mother of Amanda R. Toland and Emily R. Toland.

Born in Elkins Park, she was the daughter of Anita J. Sole and her husband, Alex, of Philadelphia and Harold Caplan and his wife, Diane, of Perkasie.

Linda grew up in Philadelphia and was a 1987 National Honors Society graduate of George Washington High School where she also was a member of the marching band, concert band and orchestra as a flutist. She then went on to Penn State University and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Management in 1991.
Linda loved spending time with her daughters and her husband. She enjoyed rollerblading, riding her bike and could often be found settled down with a good book. Her talents were shown throughout her home, for she had a flair for decorating and was constantly formulating another home improvement project. Her gift of love and dedication to her family will always be remembered and cherished.

Linda’s courageous battle against breast cancer was truly heroic. She never stopped living and her ability to find happiness, joy and peace in spite of adversity inspired all who came in contact with her.

In addition to her husband, daughters, and parents, she is survived by her brother, Michael A. Caplan and his wife, Cathy, of Lincoln University, PA, her 3 sisters; Liela Caplan-Rushton and her husband, William L., of Huntingdon Valley, PA, Andrea Dunning and her husband, Gary, of Perkasie, PA, and Valerie Schulz and her husband, Paul, of Perkasie, PA. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewings, Friday, February 3, 2012 from 6:00-8:00pm at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Ave. (Route 202 & Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain, PA and on Saturday, February 4, 2012 from 8:30am until her Funeral Mass 10:00am at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, Route 152 & Broad Street, Hilltown, PA 18927. Her interment will be in St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont, PA.

In lieu of flowers, tax-deductible contributions may be made to a college fund for her children in her memory. Please make checks payable to “College America 529 Plan FBO Toland Education Fund” and mail to Capital Insurance & Investments, 350 East Butler Avenue, Suite 102, New Britain, PA 18901 or simply schedule some precious time to enjoy your family and friends as Linda did.
