Helen Cauvin (Perseponko)

November 20th, 2012

Helen Cauvin of Holland, PA passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2012, at St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne. She was 79.

She was the beloved wife of the late Charles R. Cauvin Jr.

Born in Williamstown, PA, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Anna Hudak Perseponko and sister of the late Michael and Andrew Perseponko.

Mrs. Cauvin was a resident of Holland for the past 43 years. She graduated from Bristol High School, Class of 1951. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and was an avid bowler. Her family came first and foremost in her life and she always enjoyed the special times spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be sadly missed as a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.

She is survived by her six children; Andrea Curdts of Quakertown, PA, Carla A. Cauvin of Nederland, CO, Denise L. Cauvin of Newtown, PA, Danielle L. Cauvin of Johnstown, PA, Paula Cauvin and her husband, Benjamin Yu, of Somerville, NJ and Charles R. Cauvin III and his wife, Kristi, of Feasterville, PA. She is also survived by her two sisters, Anna Visco of Buckingham, PA, Irene Neyer of Norristown, PA, eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Monday evening, November 26, 2012, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Road), Richboro, PA 18954 and to her Funeral Mass on Tuesday, November 27, 2012, at 10:00 AM at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Road, Holland, PA 18966.

Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham, PA.

Richard E. Davis Sr.

November 19th, 2012

Richard E. Davis Sr. of New Hope died on Monday, November 19, 2012, at Abington Memorial Hospital, Abington. He was 75.

He was the beloved husband for 44 years of the late Gladys E Deubel Davis who passed away three months ago in August 2012.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Russell A. and Mary Everhart Davis.

Mr. Davis was a resident of New Hope for one year and formerly lived in Richboro for 40 years. He graduated Abington High School in 1955 and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from Hamilton College in Clinton, NY, Class of 1959. He earned a Master’s degree from the Wharton School of Business in Philadelphia and put it to good use working in the insurance industry for over 40 years. Before his retirement in 2002, he was employed by American Mutual Insurance Company, was a vice-president at Reliance Insurance and later went to work with AIG. In his leisure time, he enjoyed vacationing at the Jersey shore, reading, and all things related to Civil War history. He was an avid animal lover and activist throughout his lifetime. He will be sadly missed as a devoted father and grandfather.

He is survived by his two sons, Richard E. Davis Jr. and his wife, Elena, of Flemington, NJ, Scott R. Davis and his wife, Heidi, of Spinnerstown, PA and his six loving grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Monday, November 26, 2012, from 10:00 AM until his Funeral Service 11:00 AM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Road), Richboro, PA 18954.

Evelyn A. Anderson (Freeman)

November 18th, 2012

Evelyn A. Anderson of Churchville died Sunday, November 18th at Peter Becker Community in Harleysville. She was 82.

Evelyn was the beloved wife of the late Robert E. Anderson.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the William and Nellie Bryant Freeman and the sister of the late Lois Brookes.

Evelyn was a long time resident of Willow Grove before moving to Churchville. In her leisure, she enjoyed traveling, bowling, ceramics and spending quality times with her family and friends while especially indulging in “desserts”.

Evelyn is survived by her three daughters, Lynn S. Anderson and her partner, Julia Frazier of Churchville, Debbie A. Licalzi and her husband Jasper of Caldwell, Idaho and Robin A. Burnley and her husband Bob of Harleysville. She is also survived by her brother William Freeman of Prospectville, her brother-in-law George Brookes of Philadelphia and her two cherished grandchildren, Rebecca and Melissa Burnley.

Relatives and friends are invited to call Wednesday, November 21st from 6:00pm until her Funeral Service 7:00pm at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.),Richboro. Interment will be private.

Jesse Guokas

November 18th, 2012

Jesse Guokas passed away suddenly on Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012.

He was passionate about landscaping and was known by many as as the owner of JG Landscape, driving black trucks with a yellow sun logo.

He is survived by his son, Jacob; his parents, Alan and Wanda; and two brothers, Jayme and Jody.

He will be greatly missed.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Newtown Friends Meeting, 219 Court St., Newtown.

Letty A. Muhlberger (Seitzinger)

November 13th, 2012

Letty A. Muhlberger of Warrington died peacefully on Tuesday November 13, 2012 at Neshaminy Manor Home. She was 79.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the beloved wife of the late C. James Muhlberger, mother of the late Thomas Muhlberger and daughter of the late Frederick and Catherine Johnson Seitzinger.

Letty was a resident of Holland and a communicant of St. Bede the Venerable Parish for many years before moving to Warminster and then to Warrington. She was a graduate of Camden Catholic High School, class of 1951. She was a member of the TLA of Warminster, an avid bowler, enjoyed gardening and looked forward to traveling with family and friends.

Letty is survived by her sons, John Muhlberger and his wife Rosemarie of Chalfont, and Paul Muhlberger of Charlottesville, VA. She is also survived by her grandson, James Muhlberger, one brother Frederick Seitzinger and a sister Karen Streahle.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Thursday from 9:00 am until her Funeral Mass 10:00am at St. Bede the Venerable Church 1071 Holland Rd. Holland, PA 18966.

Interment Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, Langhorne, PA.

Madelyn Armstrong (Helmstetter)

Devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother and GIGI

Madelyn Helmstetter Armstrong, 89 years old, entered into eternal rest on November 13, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Newark, New Jersey on January 1, 1923, the daughter of the late Charles and Ida (Niedermeier) Helmstetter. Madelyn was a graduate of Central High School, Newark, NJ.

Madelyn and her husband Robert purchased their first home in 1951 in Union, New Jersey and resided there for 25 years before moving to Whippany, New Jersey in 1976. While residing in Union, she was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Maplewood, NJ. She then joined Our Lady of Mercy Church when she moved to Whippany. Madelyn was a homemaker all of her life and loved to cook, sew, knit and bake. She was a volunteer at Morristown Memorial Hospital for 20 years during which time she knitted hundreds of newborn baby hats for the maternity ward. In 2002, Robert and Madelyn moved to Flemington, NJ to be close to their daughter Linda Burger and her family. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Three Bridges, NJ.
She was predeceased by her loving and devoted husband, Robert, who died on February 19, 2012. She was also predeceased by her sisters Henrietta Graubner, Rose Ens and Mildred Morgan. She is survived by her sibling, Sr. Aloysia of the Benedictine Order.

Surviving are her twin daughters, Barbara Fuko and son-in-law Curtis Fuko of Pittsboro, NC, and Linda Burger and son-in-law Edward Burger of Flemington, New Jersey. She was a devoted Grandmother to Tracy Burger (Pete Delgado), Lisa (Anthony) DeFazio, Julie (Kirk) Eisenbeil, Sarah (Ryan) Garbolino, Kristin (Tony) Pisch, Curtis Fuko and Michael (Eric Rizzo) Fuko. She was so proud to be the Great Grandmother (GIGI) of Luke, Hailey and Samuel DeFazio; Caleb, Camryn, Cassidy and Colby Eisenbeil; Ella Grace Garbolino; Ryan and Lindsay Pisch; Andrew Bucknam and Jessica, Kaitlyn and Justin Fuko. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Madelyn will be sadly missed by her family and friends but she is now reunited with her best friend and devoted husband, Robert, and we are all smiling knowing that they are together again, celebrating their 67th wedding anniversary in heaven together. We love you and miss you, Mom and Dad!

Services and interment were held at the convenience of the family.

Walter Alloy

November 12th, 2012

Walter E. Alloy, of Pickering Manor in Newtown, passed away with his family by his side on Monday, November 12, 2012 at St. Mary Medical Center. He was 91.

Born in Patchogue Island in Long Island, NY, Walt was the beloved husband of the late Mary Ruth Alloy for 33 years, and the son of the late Arthur Anthony and Lottie Adele Stumpf Alloy.

Walt served our country during World War II in the United States Army Air Corp Infantry. He served overseas in Africa and Europe, earning two Purple Heart medals and a Bronze Star for Valor. After being honorably discharged, Walt and his brother ran a deli in New York. He then moved to and bought the first house in Levittown, PA, where he owned an appliance store. He installed appliances in all three Levittowns; Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York. Walt retired as a postal worker in Levittown after 20 years of service.

Walt enjoyed many hobbies, including woodworking, especially furniture making, fishing and playing golf. He was also an expert in the kitchen where he loved to bake, especially cherry pies. Walt also experimented with winemaking, gardening, and canning. He was dearly loved by his family and will be missed.

Walter is survived by his children: Scott E. Peeples, husband of Tara of Newtown, PA, Deborah L. Faust, wife of Joseph of Levittown, PA, Dean Alloy, husband of Priscilla of Mansfield, PA, Thomas J. Peeples, husband of Janet of Pemberton, NJ, Vicki Ann Alloy of Eugene, OR, Daniel C. Peeples, husband of Teresa of Riverside, NJ, and Donna R. Lawson, wife of Kendall of Summerfield, FL; 17 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson. He was preceded in death by his sons, Glenn Alloy and Steven Peeples, his brother, Phillip Alloy and his sister, Margaret Heilman.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Service at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, November 16, 2012 at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.), Richboro, where his family will receive condolences from 8:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. at Washington Crossing National Cemetery.

Donald Dolan Jr.

Donald Joseph Dolan Jr. of Sellersville, PA passed away suddenly on Saturday, November 10, 2012, at his residence. He was 24 years old.

Donald was born in Doylestown, PA, he was the beloved son of Donald J. Sr. and Tina M. Rizzo Dolan and grandson of the late Robert N. Dolan.

Don was a resident of Sellersville since 1998 and previously lived in Lansdale. He graduated from Pennridge High School, Class of 2007. In his leisure time, he enjoyed fishing and hunting with his father, brothers and uncle. He loved the outdoors and spending time with his family. He found peace in his time spent at Immanuel Church of the Nazarene’s youth group, “CLIMB”. He will be sadly missed as a loving son, brother, grandson and friend to all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his two brothers, Andrew M. Dolan and Stephen F. Dolan, both of Sellersville, his maternal grandparents, Frank and Carmella Rizzo of Sellersville and his paternal grandmother, Judith Dolan of Warrington, PA.

Funeral services and interment will be held privately.

Richard F. Oswalt Sr.

Richard F. Oswalt Sr. of Buckingham Springs died peacefully on Saturday, November10, 2012, surrounded by his family. He was 84.

He was the beloved husband of Anne (Semmet) Oswalt for 63 years.

Born in Wabash, IN, he was the son of the late Vaughn W. and Ruth Hinckley Oswalt and brother of the late Barbara Ann Sickel.

Mr. Oswalt was a proud veteran of the Navy having served during World War II. Richard (Dick) was a car salesman for most of his career having sold Chevrolets at various dealerships. Since his retirement from auto sales, he has enjoyed working for the past 14 years at the Fred Beans dealerships with customers in the service department. In his leisure, Dick enjoyed creating everlasting memories with his family and friends, traveling, bowling, and making people laugh. He was known by friends and neighbors as a “social butterfly”. He will be sorely missed by everyone that knew him.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his four children; Barbara Jones of Pineville, Richard F. Oswalt Jr. (Annmarie) of Allentown, PA,Nancy Oswalt of Middletown, PA, and Patti Walton (Kenneth) of Ottsville, PA. He is also survived by his brother Vaughn W. Oswalt Jr. (Jenny) of Howell, MI, seven grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.

Dick’s family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, November 16, 2012, from10:00 A.M. until his Funeral Service at 12:00 Noon at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Avenue (Route 202 and Sandy Ridge Road), New Britain, PA 18901.

Interment will be private.

Rita Mangione (Schiavo)

Rita Schiavo Mangione of New Hope died Friday evening November 9, 2012 with her family at her side at Jefferson Hospital of the Neurosciences, Philadelphia. She was 78.


Born in Philadelphia Rita was the beloved wife of 59 years to Pasquale J. Mangione, Jr., and the daughter of the late William and Mary (Siravo) Schiavo.

Rita was born and raised in South Philadelphia, was a graduate of South Philadelphia High School, class of 1952. Rita was a resident of Holland for over 25 years before moving to Buckingham Springs in 1995. She was a consummate wife, mother and homemaker, who took extra special care in making sure her home, was a loving and happy environment for her family. After she accomplished that, Rita went to work for the County of Bucks as a clerk in the purchasing department for 8 years. She was an avid bowler who played on several church teams, and looked forward to playing bingo and other games of chance. She will be deeply missed by her loving and devoted family and her many friends.

In addition to her beloved husband, Rita is survived by her devoted children and their spouses; Pasquale J. III and his wife Kathleen, Michael A. and his wife Linda, Lisa M. LeBlanc and her husband Harvey, Rita E. Menzen and her husband Bruce, Carl W. and his wife Christine, Michelle A. Modica and her husband Michael and David C. Mangione and his wife Maria. She is also survived by her brother William Schiavo and his wife Diane, and 12 grandchildren; Angela (Josh), CJ (Danielle), Kyle, Christina, Nicholas, Tracy, PJ, Dina, Courtney, Taylor, Danielle, and Marissa and 4 great grandchildren; Cameron, Carter, Cody and Connor.
