Kristine “Kris” Costerisan

March 14th, 2013

Kristine “Kris” Costerisan passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 14, 2013, at her home in Langhorne, PA and in the close presence of her loving life partner of 37 years, Elva M. Edwards. Kris fought a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer for over five years. Her strength and grace were incredible.

Kris was born at Mercy Hospital in Janesville, Wisconsin and was predeceased by her parents, Alice and Raymond Costerisan, also of Janesville, Wisconsin.

Kris graduated from Parker High School in Janesville, Wisconsin and has resided in Pennsylvania for over 40 years. She completed her chemistry degree at Rider College in New Jersey and has worked in the pharmaceutical industry during most of her career. She has most recently been employed with Imclone Systems, a subsidiary of Eli Lilly where she held the position of Associate Director of Training. Prior to Imclone, she worked for many other companies including Johnson and Johnson, Wyeth, Pfizer and Baxter. Kris was a very hard working, competent and dedicated employee and was privileged to have mentored so many people throughout her career.

Many people who knew Kris would say that she was one of the happiest, kindest and most loyal person they knew. Her smile lit up every room and her sense of humor was endless. Kris saw beauty and wonderment everywhere she went…from the simplest to the most complex of places and things. She showed great empathy to all people and animals.

Kris loved to travel and have fun. She especially enjoyed snorkeling the reefs of the Caribbean, hiking in Alaska and Costa Rica, fishing (since her childhood) and kayaking. In Kris’s circle of friends and family, she was always the “entertainer”. She loved to sing, especially selections from The Wizard of Oz and The Sound of Music. Kris will be missed by many.

In addition to her life partner, she is survived by her three siblings: Karen Fey (Linda) and Richard Costerisan (Audrey) of Siren, Wisconsin and Michael Costerisan (Karen) of West Stockbridge, Massachusetts. Also surviving are her four nieces: Dawn Allen, Phoebe Weiss, Jennifer Keach and Jill Costerisan, as well as 2 great nieces and 2 great nephews. Kris also leaves many dear friends, cousins and one aunt.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, April 2, 2013, from 11:30 AM until her Memorial Service 1:00 PM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.), Richboro, PA 18954. Interment will be private.

James R. Stanell

March 13th, 2013

James R. Stanell, of Feasterville, passed away on March 13, 2013, at Capital Health Medical Center, Hopewell. He was 85.

Jim will be lovingly missed by his wife of 60 years, Romayne Parks Stanell.

Jim was raised in Shenandoah, PA. After high school, Jim enlisted and proudly served our country during World War II in the U.S. Army, attaining the rank of Corporal. He then enrolled at the Pennsylvania State University, and graduated in 1952 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry. He used his education to secure a position as a chemist for Allied Chemical Corporation, from which he retired after 40 years of service.

Jim was a faithful communicant of Assumption B.V.M. Church for over 55 years.

In his free time, Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing and especially his daily walks with his wife in Tyler State Park. He was very proud of being Penn State Alumni, and was an avid Penn State Nittany Lions and Joe Paterno fan. Jim’s life was his family, and his greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.

In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by his children: Dr. Laurie Anne Stanell, wife of John T. Moore of Pipersville, James “Jay” Parks Stanell, fiancée of Diana Phinney of Erwinna, PA, and Dr. William Parks Stanell, husband of Karen A. Giller of New Hope; his sister: Phyllis Santicerma; and seven grandchildren: Kendall, T.J., James, Anthony, Catherine, Samuel and Benjamin.

Relatives and friends are invited to call from 9:30 to the time of his Memorial Mass at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Assumption B.V.M. Church, 1900 Meadowbrook Road, Feasterville, PA 19053. Interment will be private.

Harry J. Donofry

March 13th, 2013

Harry J. Donofry, of Holland, PA died on Wednesday, March 13, 2013. It was his 82nd birthday, and he passed away at his home surrounded by his family.

He was the beloved husband of 54 years to Jo Ann Saring Donofry, father of the late Kristen E. Legore, Michael J. Donofry and Stephen L. Donofry and brother of the late Marie Donofry.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Lawrence F. and Elizabeth Dugan Donofry.

Harry grew up in the Mount Airy section of Philadelphia and attended Mastbaum High School. He worked for the Coca-Cola Company prior to joining the United States Air Force. He spent the next 27 years serving his country, including a tour of Vietnam. Upon retiring from the Air Force he moved his family to the Bucks County area and spent the remainder of his life being a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and brother. In 2004 he was diagnosed with Parkinsons. He bravely fought the disease for the last 9 years, and has donated his brain tissue to help further research of this dreaded disease. In the end he was surrounded by his wife, daughters and caregiver Alana Hodge, to whom his family is eternally grateful.

In addition to his beloved wife he is survived by his children Kelly A. Olewiler and her husband, Stacy, of York, PA, Tracy A. Smith and her husband, Kevin, of Holland, PA, Gabrielle N. Wojcik and her husband, Paul, of Oaks, PA, Megan P. Idell and her husband, John, of Holland, his 3 brothers George Donofry of Horsham, Francis Donofry of Philadelphia, and Joseph Donofry and his wife, Patricia, of Indiana, his 2 sisters, Margaret Martin of Bear Creek, NC, Elizabeth Pikus of Philadelphia. He is also survived by his six grandchildren; Kaitlin, Alex, Samantha, Mackenzie, Griffin, and Jordan.

His family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, March 16, 2012 from 9:30am until his Funeral Mass 11:00 AM, at the Church of St. Andrew, 81 Swamp Rd, Newtown, PA 18940.

His interment will be held privately at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown at a later date.

David F. Ramsey

David F. Ramsey of Bensalem, PA died suddenly on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at the age of 30.

David, the beloved son of Robert M. and Joanne A. Murphy Ramsey of Feasterville, was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Philip A. Murphy Sr. and his paternal grandparents, Frank and Martha Ramsey.

David was a long-time resident of Feasterville who most recently lived in Bensalem. He graduated from Archbishop Wood High School in 2000 and worked as a contractor with American Chimney Company.

A prolific writer, David had a big heart and a zest for life that endeared him to everyone he ever met. In many ways, David was a big kid himself. He had many hobbies, including riding quads, taking long bike rides and doing home repairs. While there were many things that David loved, what he clearly cherished most of all were the wonderful times he spent with his beloved fiancée, Stephanie, “the love of his life,” and his young son, Russell, whom he adored.

David will be sadly missed by many and will be remembered the most as a loving son, fiancee’, father, brother and grandson.

In addition to his beloved parents, he is survived by his son, Russell R. Ramsey, his fiancee’, Stephanie L. Smith, his brother, Robert M. Ramsey Jr. and his wife, Shervon, of Lansdale, his sister, Julie R. Smith and her husband, Patrick, of Holland, his maternal grandmother, Alice A. Murphy of Feasterville and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He is also survived by one niece and two nephews.

Margaret M. Fossett (MacDonald)

March 9th, 2013

Margaret M. Fossett died Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Naples Community Hospital in Naples, Florida. She was 87.

Margaret was the beloved wife of 65 years to Edward J. Fossett, Jr.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Mary Ellen Usher MacDonald and sister of the late Benjamin, Ernest, John and Charles MacDonald.

Margaret was a resident of Swainton, New Jersey having formerly residing in Bonita Springs, Florida and Yardley, PA and Northeast Philadelphia. In her later years, she had spent her summers in Sea Isle, NJ and winters in Bonita Springs, Florida.

“Marge” was an avid bowler, golfer, shopper and will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother and homemaker and was loved by all.

In addition to her beloved husband Edward, Margaret is survived by her children, Edward Fossett and his wife Susan, John Charles Fossett and his wife Joanne, Michael Fossett and his wife Cherie, Thomas Fossett and his wife Karin, Kathleen Phillips, Mary Ellen Roberts and her husband Michael, Joseph Fossett and Michelle Bray and her husband Brian. She is also survived by her 17 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Violet Tholey (Sheak)

March 9th, 2013

Violet Tholey, of Newtown, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Pickering Manor with her family by her side. She was 89.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Robert Sr. and Anna Wenke Sheak.

Violet was the beloved wife of 65 years to Lawrence C. Tholey, Sr.

Mrs. Tholey was a 1940 graduate of J.W. Hallahan Catholic Girl’s High School. She attended the original St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Philadelphia, graduating with a nursing degree in 1946. In the 1960’s, Violet enrolled at Temple University while raising her family, and earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing in 1968. She later went on to study at the former Beaver College, now Arcadia University, where she graduated with her Master’s Degree in Health Education in 1974. She used her education to enter the Philadelphia School District as a school nurse. Violet served at many schools during her nursing career, but spent most of her time at St. William School. She retired at the age of 65.

Violet’s hobbies included reading and gardening, but her life was centered on her family. Their large family gatherings were a lifelong source of joy. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, and enjoyed their yearly family trips to Sea Isle City.

Violet and her husband were communicants at the Church of St. Andrew for 36 years, where she had been involved in Bible Study and as a Eucharistic Minister. She had a strong faith and a committed devotion to the Lord.

In addition to her husband, Violet is survived by her children: Patricia Monahan, wife of Dennis of Richboro, JoAnn Ryan, wife of Peter of Huntingdon Valley, Lawrence C. Tholey, Jr., husband of Patricia of Holland, Mary Beth DiRenzo, wife of Samuel of Newtown, and Kathy Morrison, wife of Tom of Newtown; her sister: Lillian Wasserbach of Philadelphia; 14 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Thursday, March 14, 2013 from 9:30 a.m. to her Funeral Mass at 11:15 a.m. at the Church of St. Andrew, 81 Swamp Rd., Newtown, PA 18940. Burial will follow at Washington Crossing National Cemetery.

Helen Leavens (Risnychok)

Helen “Bubbles” Leavens of Holland died peacefully on March 7, 2013 at St. Mary Medical Center, Hospice Unit, Langhorne, PA. She was 85.

Helen was the beloved wife of the late Joseph L. Leavens.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Phillip and Helen Luba Risnychok.

Bubbles was a former resident of Warminster before moving to Holland in 1985. She was a former Communicant of St. Robert Bellarmine Church in Warrington and in her leisure she enjoyed times spent at the Northampton Township Senior Center where she played Bingo with her friends. Bubbles will be deeply missed by her family and by all who came to know her.

Bubbles is survived by her children, Bruce L. Leavens and his wife Amy of Phoenix, AZ, Bryan J. Leavens and his wife Marilee of Monrovia, MD and Linda L. Lear-Spiecker and her husband Kevin of Holland. She is also survived by her six grandchildren, Mark (Shelly), Joanna, Victoria (Keith), Veronica, Branden and Breanna.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing from 10:00 am until her Funeral Mass 11:00 am Monday March 11, 2013 at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 856 Euclid Way Warrington, PA 18976.

Marie Jethon (Stadelmayer)

March 7th, 2013

Marie Stadelmayer Jethon, born on May 2, 1910, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2013 at Chandler Hall Hospice in Newtown surrounded by her loving family. She was 102.

Marie was the beloved wife of the late Heinrich Jethon and sister of the late Mathilde and Elisabeth Stadelmayer.

Born in Duliby, Poland, she was the daughter of the late Wilhelm and Katharina Fischer Stadelmayer.

Marie came to the United States with her husband and four children from Germany in 1952 and lived initially in Philadelphia. Later, she was a long time resident of Richboro and Holland. Known lovingly as “Mutti”, “Oma” and “Great Oma”, her greatest joys in life were her family and her beautiful flowers. She will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Marie is survived by her four children, Oswald Jethon and his wife Dorothea of FL, Erika Huber and her husband Philip of MD, Arthur Jethon of Holland and Heddy Kissling and her husband Kevin of MA. She is also survived by her three grandsons, Richard Jethon, Eric Huber and Kevin Kissling and her six great grandchildren.

A private funeral service and interment were held.

Fred Augustus Moore

Fred Augustus Moore of Chalfont passed away on Thursday March 7, 2013. He was 71.

Born in Abington, PA., he was the beloved husband of Gayle A. Waterstradt Moore for 52 years, son of the late Fred A. and Kathryn Martin Moore.

Fred was a graduate of Abington High School. Fred’s professional career spanned many years, starting as owner/operator of his own foundry, moving on to become a salesman for Fred Beans Chevrolet in Doylestown. For the past eight years Fred was employed as a salesman at Keenan Honda in Doylestown.

Fred was a dedicated family man, who would never shy away from a hard day’s work. He quietly and steadily led his family, setting examples for his children to emulate. He enjoyed travel (especially to Florida), history, golf, watching the Eagles, Phillies, NASCAR.

In addition to his loving wife, Fred is survived by his devoted children and their spouses; Fred A. Moore, Michael R. Moore and his wife Emily, David W. Moore and his wife Kathryn, and Christopher J. Moore. He is also survived by his 5 loving grandchildren; Victoria, Nicholas, Molly, Michael, Alexandra, and preceded in death by the late Jacob W. Moore.

Fred’s Memorial Gathering will be on Monday March 11, 2013 from 9:00am. Prayer Service starts at 10:00am at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 E. Butler Ave. (at Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain.

William A. Daenz Jr.

William A. Daenz Jr. of Hatboro, Pa and formerly of Feasterville, PA died on Sunday, March 3, 2013, at Luther Park in Hatboro. He was 95.

He was the beloved husband of the late Esther I. Evans Daenz.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late William A. Sr. and Helen Worthington Daenz.

Mr. Daenz was a proud veteran of the Army who served his country during World War II. William worked for many years as a skilled tool and dye maker. He was also proud of the fact that he built his first home from the ground up for his family without any formal carpentry training. In his leisure he always enjoyed a round of golf or cultivating his garden, but his greatest joy was being a loving and active father and grandfather. He will be sorely missed by everyone who has come to know and love him.

William is survived by his children; Ellen I. Schrier and her husband Frank of Horsham, PA, and William A. Daenz III and his wife Cathy of Kingston, NH. He is also survived by his 3 grandchildren Bryan Schrier, Amanda VanVliet, and Caitlin Schrier, and his 4 great grandchildren Nicholas, Andrew, Annabelle, and Evelyn.

William’s family will receive friends on Thursday, March 7, 2013, from 10:00AM until his Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Road), Richboro, PA 18954.

Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Feasterville, PA.
