Almuth Reich (Luzia)

May 15th, 2015

Almuth "Oma" Reich, formerly of Levittown for 46 years, died on Friday, May 15, 2015 at the home of George and Lori Reich where had resided since 2008. She was 79.

Almuth was the beloved wife of 53 years to the late Helmuth Reich.

Born in Fulda, Germany on September 26, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Luzia.

Almuth was a kind, loving, caring and devoted wife, sister, mother, grandmother, friend, and gardener. She was a life-long homemaker and stalwart champion of her family and friends. Almuth was a parishioner of Queen of the Universe Church in Levittown, PA since 1962.

Almuth is survived by her four sons: George Reich and his wife Lori of Ivyland, John Reich and his wife Marina of Murrieta, CA, James Reich and his wife Denise of Arlington, VA, and Thomas Reich of Palo Alto, CA. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren: Kyle, Cori, Wade, Andrew, Sarah, Sean and Jack and her siblings: Jens Breitung and his wife Gerdi, Hiltraut Kremser, and Gesa Schimmer and her husband Louis.

Almuth’s family will receive friends on Wednesday May 20th from 10:00 am until her funeral mass at 11:00am at St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church, 654 Hatboro Rd (at Tanyard Rd.), Richboro, PA 18954. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Bensalem PA.

Frederick J. Edwards

May 13th, 2015

Frederick J. Edwards of Holland, PA and formerly of Washington Crossing, PA and Smithtown Long Island, NY, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Chandler Hall Hospice in Newtown, PA surrounded by his loving family. He was 86.

Frederick was the beloved husband of 61 years to Elizabeth Shadbolt Edwards.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was a son of the late Frederick and Hilda Rynander Edwards.

Frederick was a graduate of RPI in Troy, NY and went on to work as an engineer for Grumman Aerospace in Bethpage, NY, retiring in 1990 after 40 years of service.

He was an avid reader and an ardent soccer fan, most especially of the Liverpool Football Club. He will be dearly missed.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Jeffrey T. Edwards and his wife, Kathleen, of Plainsboro, NJ, Brian C. Edwards and his wife, Susan, of Flemington, NJ, Debra L. Horrell and her husband, Ron, of New London, PA and Beth-Ann Thompson and her husband, Kurt, of New Hope, PA. He also leaves behind his nine beloved grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Ronald Edwards and his sister June Durand.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewings, Friday, May 15th from 2:00-4:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Rd.), Richboro, PA 18954 and on Saturday, May 16th from 10:00-10:45am followed by his Funeral Service at 11:00am in Thompson Memorial Presbyterian Church, 1680 Aquetong Road, New Hope, PA 18938. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.

Daniel L. Lightcap

May 12th, 2015

Daniel L. Lightcap, of New Britain Borough, died on Tuesday, May 12, 2015, after a long and difficult battle with cancer at Vitas Hospice, Philadelphia. He was 62.

He was the beloved husband of 35 years to Mammie Edith James Lightcap.

Born in Abington, PA, he was the son of the late Wilson A. and Caroline F. Clime Lightcap and brother of the late John Lightcap.

Dan grew up in Rushland, PA and was a 1971 graduate of Council Rock High School. After graduating he joined the US Air Force and upon his return in 1975 moved to Doylestown and began his career with the Doylestown Borough Public Works Department. He learned everything and from the ground up and in 2012 after 37 years he retired as the Director of Public Works.

Those who knew Dan knew he was a free spirit, hard worker, independent thinker and dedicated American. He loved his family, his country, his dogs and especially his Harley Davidson. He traveled the country on his motorcycle savoring the smell of fresh air and the adventure of the open road. His passion for life was woven into the spirit of his being and will always be remembered by his family and friends.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his children Danielle Marie Lightcap and her husband James Sculles, Amanda Ruth Lightcap, and Adrian Scott Lightcap, his brother Robert Lightcap and his wife Linda, his 2 sisters, Dusty Koenig and her husband Mike and Debra Yasembousky. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jada Marie Lightcap and Edward James Sculles.

His family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, May 24, 2015 from 9:00 – 10:30 am at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Ave. (at Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain, PA 18901. His interment will be held at a later date.

Eileen T. Gricius (McTamany)

Eileen T. Gricius of Holland died peacefully on Sunday, May 10, 2015, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 83.

Born in Philadelphia, Eileen was the beloved wife of the late Charles A. Gricius, daughter of the late James E. and Mary Ellen McNulty McTamany and mother of the late Charles A. Gricius, Jr., and sister of the late James E. McTamany and Catherine A. McGowan

Eileen was a resident of Holland for the past 30 years; she was a graduate of Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls. Class of 1949. Eileen was a woman of conviction, she focused her energy on helping people, and she served as Director of Volunteers at St. Mary Medical Center for over 25 years and the American Red Cross, Philadelphia Chapter for over 8 years. She dedicated her spare time to helping all those in need. Eileen was a avid reader of current events and a full time Phillies fan. She will be sadly missed by all who came to know and love her.

Eileen is survived by her loving children Kathleen T. Pecura and her husband Robert, Suzanne M. Guralnick and her husband Mark S. She is also survived by 2 dear grandchildren Brittany Lynn and Tara Eileen and 2 great grandchildren Charles Emmett and Benjamin Beckedahl and a future great granddaughter. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Friday May 15, from 11:45 am until her Funeral Mass 1:15 pm at the Church of St. Andrew 81 Swamp Rd. Newtown. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem.

Minnette Letitia Paul (Cipriani)

May 10th, 2015

Minnette Letitia Paul died peacefully on Sunday May 10, 2015. She was the wife of the late John M. Paul, and sister of the late Carl C. Cipriani and Alfred Cipriani.

She was born and raised in South Philadelphia, the daughter of Italian immigrants, Sabatino and Agata Cipriani.

Minnette worked as a senior bookkeeper for USS Lines. She married in 1959 and moved to Bucks County with her husband and stepson. She remained in Bucks County all her life. She was a faithful member of the Northampton Presbyterian Church which she served as an elder, a Sunday school teacher, and a choir member for many years.

She is survived by her stepson, John Paul, her niece, Lydia Cipriani, her nephews Carl A and James A Cipriani and also by Karen and Scott Brubaker and children, her much loved and adopted family.

Minnette’s family will receive condolences on Saturday May 16, 2015 from 9:30am until her Funeral Services 11:00am at the Northampton Presbyterian Church 598 Buck Rd. Holland, PA 18966. The Reverend Chris Edwards will officiate at the service and Interment will follow at Union Cemetery, Richboro.

Martha A. Wehr (Turner)

May 10th, 2015

Martha A. Wehr of Chalfont died Sunday, May 10, 2015 at her residence. She was 87.

Born in Erdenheim, PA, Martha was the daughter of the late John and Margaret Devlin Turner and the sister of the late John, Joseph and Hugh Turner.

Martha was a long time resident of Hatboro and Furlong before moving to Chalfont in 2005. In her leisure, she enjoyed gardening, fishing in the bay, and was an avid sports fan - tennis was her favorite. Martha’s true joy and passions in life were the quality times she spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her family and by all who came to know her.

Martha is survived by her children, Joseph G. Wehr and his wife Lynnette of Lafayette Hill, Jack T. Wehr of Denver, CO, Peggy A. Cifelli of North Wales, Patricia L. Lewis and her husband Cecil of Worcester and Jerry J. Wehr of Philadelphia. In addition, she is survived by her brother Samuel Turner of Furlong, her 3 sisters Elizabeth Turner of Furlong, Theresa Wiggins of Newtown and Peggy Seitter of New Hope, her 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to call Friday, May 15th from 9:00am until her Prayer Service 10:00am in Mary Mother of the Redeemer Church, 1325 Upper State Road, North Wales, PA 19446. Future interment will be private.

Frederick P. Mueller Jr.

Frederick P. Mueller Jr. of Langhorne, PA died peacefully on Saturday, May 9, 2015, at home with his family by his side. He was 98.

He was the beloved husband of the late Gertrude R. Marshall Mueller for 67 years prior to her death in May 2014.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Frederick P. Sr. and Alice M. Hause Mueller, father of the late Gary E. Mueller and brother of the late Agnes Wood.

Fred was a resident of Langhorne for the past 6 years. He formerly lived in Richboro for 49 years, having moved there in 1960. He attended Olney High School in Philadelphia. Fred was employed as an auto mechanic for 55 years before his retirement in 1982. In his leisure time he enjoyed gardening, remodeling his home and building models of boats, ships and planes, and he frequently designed and built original pieces of furniture and other items through his self-taught mastery of woodworking. He kept his mind sharp by doing puzzles and crossword puzzles over many years. He was the oldest charter member of the Advent Lutheran Church, Richboro and was a Master Mason for more than 35 years, having affiliated with the Newtown Masonic Lodge in Newtown, PA.

He will be sadly missed as a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather.

He is survived by his two daughters, Shirley Ann Wood and her husband, William Wunder, of Langhorne, and Donna Lee Boruta and her husband, Mark, of Southampton, as well as his brother, John Mueller of Levittown, PA. He is also survived by his five grandchildren, Kristopher Wood (Stephanie), Erica Wood, Tara Wood, Susan Wood, and Thomas Mueller, and 4 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Friday, May 15, from 9:00 AM until his Funeral Service 10:00 AM at the Joseph A. Matthew Wayne Benedict, Sr.

May 8th, 2015

Matthew Wayne Benedict, Sr., of Penndel and a lifetime resident of Bucks County passed away unexpectedly on Friday May 8, 2015 at St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne.

Matt was owner and operator of Benedict Construction for 33 years.

He was an extraordinarily talented and skillful carpenter having worked on numerous projects with Bucks Counties’ finest builders. He took immense pride in his work ethic, dependability and no-nonsense attitude.

An avid outdoorsman, Matt spent most of his leisure time out in the wilderness. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and animal watching. He found solace in his upstate cabin where he made friends with the local animal population.

Above all else, Matt was devoted to his family and is survived by his wife, Joyce E. Julian-Benedict; children, Matthew W. Benedict Jr of New York, NY, Sarah Lynn Rook and her husband, Ethan, of Ivyland; and his beloved grandson Ethan Rook, Jr whom he adored. He also leaves behind three siblings, Skip, Tina, and Candice Benedict.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Memorial Service on Wednesday May 13, 2015 at 3:00 PM at the Addisville Reformed Church, 945 Second Street Pike, Richboro, PA 18954. Following the service, there will be an opportunity to greet the family. The interment will be private.

Terry E. Baskin

Terry E. Baskin, of Chalfont, PA died on Thursday, May 7, 2015, at his home. He was 71.

He was the beloved husband of almost 51 years to Carolyn Richardson Baskin.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Harry D. and Hazel Robinson Baskin, father of the late Jeffrey Baskin and brother of the late Robert Baskin.

He worked at Elkay Manufacturing for 32 years. He enjoyed working with his hands and could fix or build anything. He was a friend to everyone; he would drop everything to help a friend or neighbor in need. He enjoyed his home life and spending time with wife and family. He enjoyed having and playing with his two grandsons. He was a former CB West wrestling standout and enjoyed watching and cheering for his two grandsons in their youth wrestling program.

In addition to his wife, Terry is survived by his daughter Amy Gouge and her husband Trevor of Perkasie, his brother James Baskin and his wife Donna of Perkasie, and his sister Susan Wulf and her husband Russell of Florida. He is also survived by his 2 grandsons; TJ and Kyle Gouge.

Terry’s family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, May 15, 2015 from 10:00am until his Funeral Service 11:00am at the Joseph A.
