William A. Kish of Langhorne, PA died peacefully on Wednesday, July 29, 2015, at Attleboro Nursing Home, Langhorne. He was 83.

He was the beloved husband for 55 years of the late Eleanor C. Kish.

Born in Rahway, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Alexander and Teresa Pittel Kish and brother of the late James Kish.

Mr. Kish was a resident of Langhorne for the past 5 years and formerly lived in Yardley for 49 years. He graduated from Rahway High School, Class of 1949 and went on to receive his Bachelor of Science from Rutgers University in 1962. Before his retirement in 1991, he was employed as a business manager for IBM for 25 years. His family was first and foremost in his life and he always enjoyed the special times spent with his daughters and grandchildren. He will be sadly missed as a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather.

He is survived by his four daughters, Susan Kamnik and her husband, Ronald, of Port Charlotte, FL, Sharon Riggi and her husband, Richard, of Newtown, Robin Kish and her partner, Christina Fotiadis, of Buckingham, and Barbra-Jon “BJ” Medlar and her husband, Steven, of Ivyland, PA. He is also survived by his five grandchildren; Ryan, Susan, Shannon, John, Steven and 1 great granddaughter, Veronica.

His family will receive condolences on Wednesday, August 5, 2015, from 10:00 AM until his Funeral Mass 11:30 AM at the Church of Saint Andrew, 81 Swamp Road, Newtown, PA 18940. Interment will take place at Union Cemetery, Richboro.

Helen M. Gerber of Newtown passed away Monday July 27, 2015 at Chandler Hall Hospice with her loving family by her side. She was 92. Helen was the beloved wife of the late Joseph E. Gerber with whom she had shared 71 years of marriage.

Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Charles P. and Florence Regan Welsh.

Helen was a former resident of West Philadelphia and the Somerton section of Philadelphia before moving to Holland in 1979 and eventually to Newtown in 1993. She was a proud graduate of West Catholic High School for girls. Fervently devoted to her Catholic Faith, she was a long time parishioner of St. Andrew’s in Newtown and regularly prayed the rosary.

Above all else, Helen was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose family always came first and foremost. She will be dearly missed.

Helen is survived by her children, Joseph E. Gerber Jr. and his wife Patricia of Springfield, VA, Edward J. Gerber, Robert J. Gerber and his companion Nancy of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Mark J. Gerber and his wife Maureen of Newtown and her daughter-in-law Carol Drea Gerber.  She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and her brother, James Welsh.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her grandson, Noah Gerber; her great-granddaughter Tyre Hicks; her sisters, Catherine Minnick and Florence Brady; and her brother, Charles Welsh.

Joseph Sciuto Jr. of Warrington died Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Doylestown Hospital. He was 86.

Joseph was the beloved husband of 63 years to Beatrice Bertotti Sciuto.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Joseph and Jennie Melino Sciuto and was predeceased by his daughter-in-law Eileen Sciuto and his 9 brothers and sisters.

Joseph was a long time resident of the Rhawnhurst section of Philadelphia before moving to Warrington in 2004. He was a proud veteran of the US Army, a medic at Walter Reed Hospital in Maryland and after his discharge, he continued his service to his country by serving in the National Guard. He was a pressman for many years with Regent, Klearfold and Clark Printing Houses until his retirement in 1988. After his retirement, he worked at Wendy’s in Warrington as a greeter. In his leisure, he enjoyed fishing, playing poker and coin collecting. He attended many a flea market in his day as a vendor and was affectionately known as “Flea Market Joe”. In recent years, he enjoyed surprising his family members with impromptu text messages and FaceTime chats. He will be deeply missed by his family and by all who have had the pleasure of knowing him.

In addition to his wife Beatrice, Joseph is survived by his children; Stephen J. Sciuto of Bensalem and Lorraine Sciuto-Ballasy and her husband Joseph of Warrington. He is also survived by his 4 cherished grandchildren Nicholas, Lucas, Justin and Paola.

Stanley David Douglas, a devoted husband, father and grandfather, teacher and friend went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, July 24, 2015. He fought his final battle with cancer admirably with his wife and best friend Mildred Douglas by his side, and with the peace of Jesus comforting them. They were married 61 years. He was 87.

Following a successful career in business, Stan found his true calling as a teacher. Stan was an inspirational school teacher and administrator in West Islip, NY at Beach Street Jr. High School. He was adored by students and parents for his dedication not only to teaching but also for being a guiding light and source of encouragement to those who needed it.

Stan was an active member and deacon of Calvary Baptist Church in Bay Shore, NY for over 30 years and of Grace Community Church in Chalfont for the past 20 years where he lived out his love for people and for God.

Stan was born in the Bronx, New York, the middle son of the late Charles and Ellen and brother to the late Isabelle and Charlie Douglas. Stan served in Germany in the Army of Occupation. He completed an MA at NYU and an MA at Dowling College and continued doctoral studies at NYU.

Stan spent his retirement years in Lansdale, PA where he had many friends and a home filled with laughter from many who cherished their time with him.

Stan is survived by his wife Mildred (Stevenson) Douglas, his children Gail Keeley (David), Stanley Douglas Jr. (Robin), Carol Rivetti (Todd), Desmond Koval (Shierley), and Steven Douglas as well as 17 grandchildren, Laura, David, Allison, Grace, Jonathan, Madison, Samuel, Cathy, Beza, Alex, Biruk, Joshua, Christina, Joseph, Daniel, Michael, and Kiara all of whom took great delight in Poppa’s many stories.

Thomas Michael Ford, formerly of Yardley and Fairless Hills, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2015, at Aria Hospital-Bucks Campus.  He was 88.

He was the beloved husband of the late Margaret Elnicki Ford.

Born in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late Neil and Agnes McMahon Ford and father of the late Joy Kelly. 

Mr. Ford, or “Sailor”, as he was known to his family and friends, was a resident of Levittown for 28 years.  He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during World War II. For many years, he was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Church in Levittown.  Before his retirement in 1982, he was employed as a general foreman of tin and finishing at U.S. Steel Corporation in Fairless Hills. “Sailor” was a gregarious gentleman with an outgoing personality.  He could light up a room and was always the life of the party.  He enjoyed golfing, dancing and was proud of his Irish heritage.  He will be sadly missed as a loving father and grandfather.

He is survived by his 3 sons, Thomas M. Ford Jr. and his wife, Georganne, of Holland, Timothy B. Ford of Yardley, and Kevin A. Ford of Philadelphia.  He is also survived by his son-in-law, Patrick Kelly of Beach Haven, NJ and his 9 grandchildren. He was preceded in death  by his 7 brothers and sisters.

Shirley L. Houtz of Berlin, NJ passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at Spring Oak Assisted Living. She was 84.

Shirley was the wife of the late Donald S. Houtz who passed away July 1, 2009.

She was born November 20, 1930 in Mifflintown, PA. She was a daughter of the late William E. and Mabel Wright Switzer.

Shirley enjoyed collecting dolls, making crafts and sewing.  She even used her sewing talents to clothe her children as they grew 

She is survived by her five children; Pamela Horvath and her husband Steve of Woodlynne, NJ, Dennis Houtz and his wife Nancy of Richboro, Denise Chiarlanza and her husband Bob of Feasterville, Sue Swider of Cinnaminson, NJ and Cheryl Smith and her husband Ernie of Sicklerville, NJ; eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley was preceded in death by her son-in-law Bud Swider and her seventeen siblings.

Joan M. Williams of Chalfont, PA died peacefully on Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at Wesley Enhanced Living, Doylestown, surrounded by her family. She was 79.

She was the beloved wife of 53 years of the late Francis J. Williams Sr. who preceded her in death in April 2012.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Frank F. Bauer and Catherine McBride Bauer.

She was married on June 21, 1958 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Warrington, PA. For many years she was a member of St. Jude Church in Chalfont. Joan was a homemaker and enjoyed her time volunteering at Doylestown Hospital helping with the teen volunteer program.

She is survived by her seven children, Francis J. Williams Jr. and his wife, Teresa, of Chalfont, Joan M. Williams of Perkasie, Debra Williams of Telford, Theresa Wagner and her husband, Richard, of Lone Tree, CO, Daniel R. Williams and his wife, Ziem-Nop of Hilltown, Suzanne Williams and her wife, Linda Benson, of Towson, MD and Jennifer Wenhold and her husband, Chad, of Perkasie. She is also survived by her sister, Bonnie Van Horn of Buckeye, AZ, 18 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Eleanor R. Trefz of Hilltown Township died peacefully on Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at her residence after a courageous battle with lymphoma. She was 87.

She was the beloved wife of the late Louis Trefz.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Patrick J. and Nora Byrne Cosgrove and sister of the late Anna Kennedy, John, Austin, James, William and Joseph Cosgrove.

Mrs. Trefz was a resident of Hilltown Township for the past 10 years.  From 1987 until 2005, she and her husband resided in Spring Hill, FL and formerly lived in Willow Grove, PA for 30 years.  She was a woman of deep faith and a devout communicant of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church.  Her family came first and foremost in her life.  She always enjoyed the special times spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  In her leisure time, she enjoyed solving crossword puzzles and had a routine of daily walking for exercise.  She will be sadly missed as a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by her son, William J. Trefz and his wife, Jean, of Perkasie and her daughter, Noreen P. Cockrum and her husband, LeRoy, of Colorado Springs, CO.  She is also survived by her 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Linda E. Cangelosi, of New Britain, PA, died on Sunday, July 19, 2015, at home with her family by her side after a long and courageous battle with bone cancer.  She was 61.

She was the beloved wife of 33 years to Joseph A. Cangelosi.

Born in the Frankford section of Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late William Logan and Catherine (Bobyack) Logan.

Linda studied nursing at Temple University, where she joined the Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority and made lifelong friends. For 36 years she worked as a nurse. Her daughters brought her great joy, and so much of her life was spent supporting them and helping them succeed. She was looking forward to her first grandchild in November. A woman of strong faith, her passions included spending time with family and friends, traveling, dogs, and volunteering to help others. Linda is remembered for “telling it like it is” and her persevering, hardworking nature.

In addition to her husband, Linda is survived by her daughters, Patricia Cangelosi and Victoria Guentter; son-in-law Brian Guentter; grandson (in utero) “Baby Boy Guentter,” all of New Britain Boro; brother Michael Logan; sisters Judy Logan and Janet Logan, all of Philadelphia; nephews Michael Logan, Santos “Jay” Higgins and Hugo “Daniel” Higgins; nieces Anna Montaquila and Rachel Logan; sisters-in-law Mindy Logan, Debby Dennis and Alice Higgins; brothers-in-law Thomas Cangelosi and Daniel Higgins; four grand-nephews and two grand-nieces; many loving friends and former colleagues; and three grand-dogs.

Thomas J. O’Donnell of Huntingdon Valley, PA returned to the Lord on Sunday, July 19.

Beloved Husband of 41 years to Linda (nee Tolia) and dearest Father to Matthew and Andrew.

Born in Mount Airy, Philadelphia, a graduate of Cardinal Dougherty High School (1963) and LaSalle College (1967). Tom served in the U.S. Army along the DMZ in Korea from 1967-1969 and retired from Conrail Corporation (Management) in 1999.

Throughout his retirement, Tom enjoyed several extended backpacking tours to Europe and a series of such excursions back home in the States. His travels brought him to Ireland and Scotland multiple times, the latter a highlight of his golf career, one round of play at St. Andrew’s Old Course. He traversed most of New Zealand and also spent time in Northern Ireland and Gimmelwald, Switzerland.

Notable stateside treks include Alaska’s Kenai Peninsula and Arizona’s Havasupai Indian Reservation. Above all, Tom enjoyed visiting his boys in their respective, adopted hometowns of Denver/Boulder, CO and New York City.

When he was neither traveling nor golfing (or at the driving range) Tom devoted the rest of his time to various home improvements and the meticulous care and daily maintenance of his lawn, in which he took tremendous pride. All of this, while doting on his loving wife Linda, his rock, who never left his side.

Those who knew him best would recall Tom as a humble man who cherished his family, lived life honorably and one who simply did things the right way, by the book. He was a kind and gentle man, who loved nature and all of her creatures (sans carpenter ants) and was well read in history, specifically literature involving the Civil War, WWI and WWII.

Brother to Catherine Payne, married to Eugene and Patricia McCormick, married to Lawrence, deceased. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
